Just wondering not an agressive cotto, not a cotto trying to use his physical attributes but instead his intelligence and boxing skills.

How would it play out, Defensive cotto, with safety first mindset? You know a boxer...

    Same outcome?

He could pull out a UD loss at best.

you have to understand that cotto didn't chose to be aggressive in the pac fight, pac has lured cotto unto it. cotto was trying to fight on the outside using his jab and had quite a success on the first two rounds until pac has to make cotto come by covering-up and staying on the ropes. it was not more of cotto's choice but it was more of pac's own adjustment.

but if cotto was displined enough to do what he did in the first round through the whole fight, i guess he would have lost a close decision. remember that even if pac was playing cotto's game, he is actually getting the best of the exchanges or at least on par with one of the best jabber of the game currently.

    A worser beating for him.

I think the Cotto that existed pre-Margarito might have a chance against Pacquaio but the guy got absolutely annihilated in that fight, following hard fights with Judah and Mosley, he just wasn't the same fighter anymore.

Had he been more aggressive against Pacquaio, he'd have had more of a beating, he had too many holes in his defense and not enough speed.

pac ud at 154 in my opinion if he fights like that 117-111 or 116-112 type fight. we will see this in 2012.

Styles make fights but... Cotto looses, maybe a wide UD for Pac, but probably a late stoppage, like RD 9 or 10.

Nope that pre Margarito Cotto would still be annihilated by Pac. Watch Cotto's older fights, he is always get hit a lot.

Anyway, I think nothing has changed from Cotto after the Margarito fight as shown by his fights after the Margo fight, looking at it under Steward, Cotto it seems is getting better.

Watch the fight again. Cotto boxed beautifully but Pacquiao figured hum out. Pac countered those Cotto's best jabs and negated it. Cotto had no choice than to brawl with pac coz he aint going nowhere if he box pacquiao. There goes the BAIT. BOOM! KD!!! Yeah I know Cotto won rd3 but lost in KD.
