    Fight that Golovkin has.

Fair play to Monroe, he was game but he was outclassed.

No shame in that, though, as it seems to be a recurring theme with Gennady's opponents.

Cotto really does need to man up and make this fight happen. How on earth can he even justify facing Geale after what Golovkin did to him and what Geale has done since?

Miguel was a warrior in his earlier days, but he needs to step up and make this fight happen.

Hats off to Monroe, though. He stepped up when the rest of the division stepped back!

Cotto is starting to look worse?

You realize Cotto is a shot, shop worn Welterweight, right? Ever since that savage beating Contreto gave Cotto back in 08, he's never been the same. He received even more beatings with Pacquaio and Clottey and now Cotto is just hanging by a thread.

I'm honestly impressed how far he has got since those beatings. His punch resistance is so bad that a bloated 154 pound Mayweather almost knocked him out with clown gloves.

It's honestly an embarrassment that GGG would risk years of his prime trying to get this fight. Cotto has 2 fights lined up and is looking to retire soon. Before retiring, he wants to pick up paychecks from Geale and Canelo to support his money grubbing wife and gay step son.

    Give over.

It's ALWAYS the same old rubbish with you lot - 'Oh he's not a true MW', 'Oh he's old'.

Fact: Cotto had his career best performance against Sergio, and is now THE lineal MW champ.

He campaigns at Middle. Golovkin fights at Middle. What's the problem?

It's embarrassing that Cotto is fighting Geale, say's that Golovkin isn't worthy, and Golovkin FLATLINED Geale!

I can not take a boxer serious who lost to Trout. No wonder Cotto is ducking GGG.

Cotto is a quitter and a drama Queen. GGG would mangle his face so bad it would look like a murder scene.

Cotto would smash the glass jaw of Golovkin in under 4 rounds.

Cotto is looking worse because Golovkin is dismantling cabbies. Makes sense.

If he doesn't belong at MW then he shouldn't fight there - simple. All these BS justifications about a fighter just wanting to make a bit of money before retiring are exactly what ruin the sport.

If you're fighting at that weight, be prepared to face anyone, especially if you're a belt-holder.

If you want to make easy money, go work for Oscar and sell his **** in Tecate bottles for commission. You can keep doing that until you're 60.

Justify Cotto's reasoning to fight Geale AFTER Gennady flatlined him...

Here is what I find ironic. Both Kellerman and Jones state that Cotto is not fighting GGG because there isn't enough money to justify the fight and yet who is Cotto's next fight? Geale, a fight that will bring in a tiny fraction of what a Golovkin-Cotto fight would bring. It is not that Cotto is a savvy business person, it is because he doesn't want to lose a bigger payday with Canelo, since Cotto knows GGG ends his career. People are giving Cotto too much credit. Step up, Miguel. You portray yourself as the Honorable Warrior. Time to stick to that commitment.

Agreed! No point in holding the belt if you won't defend it against the man everyone wants to see you fight.

Money excuse is no longer valid. GGG is one of the best known boxers in the game today. If Cotto, Canelo or any other top bill fighter faced him in Vegas I guarantee tickets will go before Toney reaches Burger King. And they can't claim to be A-side fighters either, because GGG has made a name for himself and can claim a 50-50 share minimum.
