Cotto is looking worse with each passing...

Well he won't look that bad if he ends up taking on Canelo or FLoyd in the fall.

I think he steers clear of GGG. If Cotto beats Geale, I'm positive Cotto will fight FLoyd or Canelo, give GGG step aside money, and never fight him in the future.

I don't blame Miguel though. He' s not big enough to compete with Golovkin. I think GGG would knock him out in spectacular fashion.

 

After all this smack talk about Geale, it would be hilarious to see the reactions if he actually beat Cotto.

 

It's business, he negotiates a fight that gives him a far better chance to win so that he does not mess up a far larger payday than what three G brings by fighting Canelo. The Canelo fight is also far more winnable, making three G Cotto even bigger should they fight later. It's funny because three G seems to understand all this perfectly, his stock is going through the roof because claims of him being ducked is sending his stock there.

The guy is absolutely living it up fighting "the bum of the month" while his grin gets bigger after every fight. He knows exactly how good he's got it and how good it will be later, smart guy. You guys should start seeing what he sees because he is also doing things correct from a business stance...which if you open your eyes would see is all he cares about also.

 

I personally don't think Geale is a gimme fight. He's a pretty good all around boxer and has good footwork.

Cotto has looked sensational in his last 2 fights, but it wasn't that long ago when people were questioning on whether he should retire following his loss to Trout.

 

Scar call Gale a cabbie not me and it don't matter if cotto is small he chose to fight at middle if he's so small drop back down

Fact: Cotto is a shot, damaged goods WW whose prime ended in 2008 at 147 pounds. Martinez challenged him at MW, not the other way around, thinking it would be an easy payday for him. Cotto knocked him out, took a year lay off due to promotional issues, and is now signed with a new promoter, fighting GGG's best opponent in his resume Daniel Geale, then looking for a mega superfight with Canelo Alvarez.

GGG fans just can't accept the fact that a shot midget is gonna beat GGG's best opponent and that he has to WAIT his turn like a good boy for his shot at the green belt. :deal

 

Martinez challenged Cotto to a fight expecting an easy payday, then got knocked out by the midget Cotto..

Cotto has the belt now, and is now making career decisions to benefit him and his future.

GGG is stuck knocking out cabbies and prospects at 33 years old. He's wasted half a decade waiting for Martinez to challenge him, only for Cotto to now hold the belt, and soon Canelo. The man is starting to become a joke, he needs to move up and fight bigger and better men before he gets old overnight and gets knocked out. If he retired now, Arthur Abraham would have a greater resume/career than GGG.. :rofl

Pretty much how I see it.

He is indeed small for a middleweight, toward the end of his career, and has even great for the sport in the fights he's made. That still doesn't take away from the fact that he's the middleweight champion. If you're the MW champion, then you should fight the top MWs....and do so at 160 lbs. If you're too small, then go back down.

 

He is fighting the best middleweights, wtf?

Since moving up in weight he's fought the MW King Martinez, Geale a top 5 MW, and soon to be Canelo, the biggest superstar Cotto hasn't faced.

Meanwhile, GGG is fighting Willie Monroe and Felix Sturm leftovers.

 

I'm giving the Geale fight a pass because it'll be pretty fan friendly and it's a step towards the Canelo fight. Let's face it the Canelo fight has a bit of history and I'd much prefer to see it than the Golovkin fight. In an ideal world the winner would take on the big guy but let's see how it plays out eh

Cotto looked fantastic in the Margarito rematch and looked fantastic against Sergio.

Why should GGG 'wait his turn' to face Miguel when miguel is facing GGG's leftovers?

 

The only leftover of GGG Cotto is feasting on is GGG's best opponent in Daniel Geale..

Margarito was a brickless, one eye'd shot punching bag who hasn't had a top win since being exposed as a cheater.

Martinez(who should of fought GGG instead of Cotto) was the one who called out Cotto, not the other way around. The man knew his time was up and wanted an easy payday vs a shot WW who lost to Austin Trout a fight before.

Martinez cherry picked wrong though, and now Cotto is the champ and has 2 fights lined up then likely to retire.

Should we blame Cotto for looking out for his family and making as much money as possible or should we blame GGG for marinating in a dead division expecting handouts, fighting bums instead of moving up.

 

I just want him to let go of the belt his doesn't deserve. If he can't handle the division, he has to move down.

He is the champ but won't fight his nearest rival, yet takes on his nearest rivals leftovers and then states that his nearest rival isn't worthy!

 

A valid argument. Team Cotto did dismiss Golovkin saying there was no money in the fight. He then signed a deal for $17 million a fight with Roc nation, making any argument about purse irrelevent. Then he signs to fight Geale, who brings nothing to the table.
