nice first post. this fight proved nothing of the sort. even before this fight most knowledgable fight fans felt cotto was the real fight. its like floyd fought the #4 ranked welter in the world when cotto is ranked #1. but you feel beating #4 proves that he can beat #1. it doesnt work that way.

 

Cotto cant cut off the ring effectively, and Cotto's hand speed is no where near Floyd's.

Cotto does not stand a chance against Floyd. What does cotto bring to the table against Mayweather than he cant handle? Mayweather has proved he can handle pressure, he's proved he can avoid bodyshots, he's proved he can fight in any style and still hurt guys at 147lbs.

Cotto has a better chin than Hatton at 147. Hatton was out on his feet and arguably dropped by Collazo. And tonight, he was knocked out by Mayweather. Cotto was rocked by Judah, but was able to take punches from Quintana and Mosley.

At 140, this is a different story, but at 147, Cotto is MUCH, MUCH better than Hatton.

I think this is a 50/50 fight. Cotto by late stoppage, or pbf by ud. I would definitely be rooting for my boy Miguel. pbf has to either fight Cotto and Williams, or retire in disgrace. I have already stated many times that I think PBF made the Hatton fight happen in order to avoid the 2 guys he ought to fight.
