Cintron is similar, but I can't get that Margarito fight out of my head.

I think his flashy KO, over a solid but not great Matthysse, earned him a lot of recognition.

Lots of people jumped on his bandwagon after that, but I don't know how many of them saw the Margo fight.

I'm still thinking Cintron is more hype, then substance, at this point.

I've been wrong more than right, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt.

He beat a young Collazo who did almost beat Hatton but I feel Hatton would of easily beat Collazo had he not tried to put on the weight for 147. But Shane beating Vargas is nothing. Vargas is far from the same fighter he was before. Vargas has tried to box and not even throw any punch with mean intentions. Two Vargas wins were okay.

Shane has done decent things but that still does not make Cottos win over him any better.

Good win but not great :good

This is Orishman we are talking about. He would of discredited Floyd had Floyd fought Shane and not Hatton or Cotto.

I recomend that you watch the Mergo fight with the volume off and watch closely at Cintron and how he got KO...it was all on his head not physical

I'm a big Cotto fan, but I can agree with this.

In the general boxing world, it might have only been a "good" win.

To Miguel Cotto though, it has to be a "great" win. His best to date, based on who he has fought.

The good news for us fans is, he is going to keep stepping up his level of competition, and eventually he will have what everyone can call a "great" win.

Im a Cotto fan as well, but a bigger Floyd fan. You are right to Cotto its a great win but for us fans(die hard ones) its a good win. Cotto is in the right direction. Simple as that.

    I doubt that.

Even Floyd's biggest critics would have gladly accepted him fighting SSM.

Then Floyd ballhuggers could have told us how he is now better then SRR. (I don't think you are a nuthugger, by the way)

I agree, I've always felt that Shane's never really lived up to his potential or his natural talent. I still think he's an ATG at Light and Welter and rate him very highly, especially head to head. I think that if he had a better gameplan going into the Cotto fight and a better trainer he would have won decisivly.

It was a GOOD win. Nothing more. Shane was 36 years old.

Cotto is going in the right direction.

Both fighters did a great job adapting to each's style. Cotto impressed more cause hes new to the elite class, and thus it was good to see him mix it up effectively and against a great fighter.
