A man that is a cripple doesn't run across the ring to try and sucker punch an opponent. Yeah, I've seen him fight. Martinez fought in a weak middleweight era making people think he was better than he really was. Cotto beats any version of Martinez. The fact that Martinez became lineal and held the title for so long shows the weakness of the middleweight division.

Never said he wasn't did I. At this point though he's far from the top of the heap at MW. You guys can't have it both ways, you continually throw off on GGG's opponents yet the moment Cotto beats one of them you all try to make him the best Middleweight in the world other than GGG. You're all transparent as hell and pathetic in your attempts to legitimize him now.

Geale is decent but if I had to choose who he'd beat if he were put in the ring with Quillin, Lemieux, Jacobs, Saunders, Korobov, Lee, Khytrov, Murata, Quigley even O'Sullivan, I wouldn't pick him to beat one of them, and most others wouldn't either.

He's the biggest name on GGG's resume in terms of name recognition, his best win is over Murray though who would also beat Geale.

He lost to Mundine and Barker he obviously has a ceiling he's a little above domestic level Aussie.

The irony :rofl Noone in the history of forums has contradicted themselves and changed their opinion/prediction with the benefit of hindsight as much as you.

The fact is Golovturds suddenly stopped calling Geale a top 5 MW as soon as Cotto beat him better than Gennady did.

This thread is more about Cotto exposing Golovkins weak resume than the 160 division in general anyway. I agree there are some exciting young contenders, in paticular Chris Eubank Jr who in a couple of years will smash a 35 yr old GGG all over the ring.

I never called him top 5, I've never ranked him top 5, remember I'm the "prospect guy" I think the majority of the fighters who are very impressive at MW most of you all probably haven't even seen yet.

As far as Cotta goes he didn't expose anything, Geale has a weak chin, as evidenced by the fact he's been dropped like 9 or 10 times in his career, but at least GGG didn't have to drain him to a zombie and brutally headbutt him to make him quit.

Doesnt look good for GGG's resume then as Geale is one of his top 3 wins.

Cotto is a catchweight disgrace at 160. He ought to retire rathre than defraud us fans with his conjob.

:patsch Golovkin knocked him out @160 in 3 round while Cotto knocked him out in 4 rounds @ 157

Cotto never fought @160 and they have one common opponent, how can he expose Golovkins resume ?

So you think any exciting young contender should duck Golovkin until he is getting old. I tought you said that Golovkin was exposed ? :?

The only thing Cotto did was confirm what we already knew. Golovkin's resume sucks b@lls!!!!!

I am a Golovkin fan, have always rooted for him, and even went to watch him live when he fought in Carson, but I keep it real....GGG's resume truly sucks major sweaty b@lls.

Golovkin hasn't a great resume yet that's right but he has a better resume as Cotto @160 who never really fought at that weight

btw Coto's last really big win vs a top prime fighter was vs Clottey in 2009

Cotto is hype. GGG would crush him no doubt. However, GGG has had opportunities to make a name for himself.

Golovkin wants to appeal to the Mexican fans, then he reallyt needs to fight like a Mexican, meaning, he needs to step it up in competition.

Mexicans don't give two sh!ts about an undefeated record, Mexicans care about fighters who step it up and take tough challenges regardless of risk/reward... Such as Canelo, ODLH, Morales, Marquez etc....

We like KOs and agressive styles, but we'll respect you and support you win or lose if you show a warriors mentallity and fight anyone...

Golovkin is well into his 30's, I think it's reasonable to say, he need only fight top tier opponents if he wants to create a legacy and if he wants to become a household name...

Golovkin is doing the same thing Amir Khan is doing, waiting for a big ass pay day without doing much to earn it.

Of course Golovkin need's big fight's

But @168 there are only Froch and Ward at the moment
Ward has to win his comback first and will probably have another tune up in 2015. I'm not sure if Froch fight ever again.
    Chavez lost recently

It makes no sence for Golovkin to move up at the moment
but he earned a big payday He is undefeated has a belt since 5 years has 14 title defenses and knocked out every opponent since 2008.

There are some good fights for Golovkin @160

Cotto, N'Dam N'Jikam, Lemieux, Jacobs, Lee, Eubank Jr, Alvarez

Cotto barely got touched by Geale and made him look horrible in there, Geale actually had a bit of success against GGG before the stoppage and landed some good punches.

A past prime blown up JWW easily destroying one of Golovkins best wins doesn't exactly flatter his level of competition. Doesn't matter about the CW, Cotto would have done exactly the same thing to Geale at 160.

I never said Golovkin was exposed, only his resume. Golovkin can still prove himself to be elite, but at this moment in time he remains unproven against world class opposition. All the talk of him being this invincible wrecking machine is way premature.

Golovkin still stopped him faster that's fact

Maybe he would maybe he wouldn't fact is he wasn't confident enough to prove it 160

If Golovkin would beat up Trout or Margarito @160 you wouldn't give him any credit for that

The logical next step to prove it is to knockout Cotto. But Cotto is obviously afraid and he can't force Cotto to fight him even when Golovkin is already his mandatory and has the interim's belt.
