Cheers Relentless, All i can say is i've never ever seen Cotto punch and train with that sorta intensity and aggression. Well in front of camera's that's for sure... Edit: Then i see Cotto spinning in centre of ring..:rofl Presume that's some way of simulating being dazed in a fight..
Really interesting. The spinning things seems to be to get him used to being buzzed or not having his balance by burning it into muscle memory. Lots of interesting things there: * using his shoulder to get space to work * standing his ground and using his elbows to block shots while keeping a tight guard * keeping his height to diminish the impact of uppercuts * moving to get position rather than just to move His new trainer is a good fit going on that. He's working on technical things: moving at Cotto while he's punching; making him adjust position while under fire rather than trying to get out and reset; drilling in tactics that he'll default to if in trouble. Plus he's clearly a gifted technical coach. This is shaping up to be very interesting. Hopefully Cotto uses his brain as well as his skills.
I was impressed and impressed Miguel was working at a pace and looking hungry for it. He wants to beat the cheating shitcunt and i hope he does.
cotto will retire after this, rest assured he's in for another bollocking. He'll join the long list of puerto rican fighters that get mexicanned.
The helicopter is simulating, the affects of being daze by big punches. "And then fighting under these conditions" From what i can gather......
I hadnt watched the vid before I read the comments, kinda had me wondering if Cotto had whipped his **** out and started doing the helicopter with it.
I've got Cotto here. Theres going to be a lot of scrutiny on Margos hands/wraps, and I really feel he's degraded way past where Cotto is at this point. Cotto the better boxer + more hunger to beat Margo to exact revenge.
Had a proper giggle when Cotto started spinning. Interesting technique though, is this in popular usage? Clever idea.
