The WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will face Antonio Margarito in a rematch on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the purse of the Puerto Rican could be worth as much as $6 million dollars, according to Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank. Margarito is having additional tests conducted to ensure that his injuries, suffered in the bout with Manny Pacquiao last November, are fully healed. "That fight was going to happen on July 16 but I met with Margarito's team and the doctor said that he wants to conduct additional tests on his right eye because he wants to ensure [Margarito] has perfect vision. So we are going to move to it to September 17 when Independence Day is celebrated in Mexico. And we are going to do it at the MGM Grand. Cotto will likely earn $6 million," Arum said. "The Puerto Ricans will go to Las Vegas to support Cotto. This has been seen in the past and therefore we will stage it there. It's the ideal site."
