Ring rust doesn't become an issue. Floyd's not one to let himself go, he'll still be training and keeping fit even if he doesn't have any intention of coming back and fighting again. His sparring sessions are like proper fights aswell, usually about 15 rounds or so aren't they?
By how many rounds? Whats the deciding factor that gives Cotto the overall advantage? No cuts? No fouls? (on either end) Inside or Outside?
15 rounds ... 15-20 minute rounds and a vast rotation of sparring partners. And its so easy for him to get sparring partners with simmular styles to his opponents ... Former world titlist as well He also sparrs ... much bigger guys ... as high as LHW ...
i think cotto could pull it off, i don't know how inactivity would affect mayweather. I still voted mayweather by UD though, but it would be close unlike some other people think

That's what I'm saying, even if he doesn't actually fight he's still pushing himself even harder in training against top-quality opponents and much bigger guys for much longer, so ring rust isn't a factor. What will be a factor is whether his body continues to break down like he says it is, whether his hands become worse, whether his handspeed and his reflexes slow, recently he's been getting caught with shots that he would of easily avoided in or near his prime, I think he's in decline and I think he knows it.

As much as people don't think so, I think its more mental because PBF hasn't been in any wars and has never been knocked down. He hasn't had a choice to do anything other than box and i'm sure he's just soaking up his new found mainstream/commerical fame ... He's older than me but I heard when he was young and in h/s all he did was train -- he was always running and at the gym. I don't know exactly if he's on the decline like that ... he's always been getting hit w/ major shots ... its just a matter of him wanting it more than he used to. He wanted so much to be like the big names in the sport and now that he's reached that plateau, I think he lost love for the moment. His team is always doing research ... they probably already have fight tape and a game plan broken down for Cotto ... I don't think that they (the Mayweathers) have built this kid up since he could walk to have him lose during his pro career. I'm sure they even bet money on him as well ...

Cotto would changes Floyd's Alias from PRETTY To UGLY!!!! lol jk, It would be a throw back fight if Floyd elects to not go on his track shoes and decides to fight in the pocket with Miguel, my GOD would it be amazing!!! Both guys would get banged up and Floyd would have to use his skills to slow and wear Cotto down to win rounds late. If Floyd can't finish strong with Cotto he'd be in trouble because Floyd could drop some rounds early just from figuring Cotto out.
