Floyd Mayweather respected Cotto's and Maidana's boxing ability so he decided to bang with them?
Just does'nt add up when you consider both Cotto and Maidana like a good brawl.

Canelo is more of a boxer than Cotto is, he is'nt known for having a seek and destroy type of a mindset where as Cotto is more know to liking to bang when he finds himself the stronger fighter, which he was vs Mayweather.
You're telling me Mayweather decided to bang with a banger who's physically stronger in Cotto?

If Mayweather bangs with fighters who's boxing skill he respects, tell us all why he did'nt bang with Juan Manuel Marquez?

I think Mayweather's resume of opposition will tell you he's more apt to take it to fighters who's skillset he does'nt respect.
    For example, Hatton, Cotto, Maidana......
and he's more apt to box with fighters that he deems to have a better more polished skillset, the type that could nail him repeatedly coming in if he got aggressive. Those types are normally fighters Mayweather views as more of a danger to beat him if he chose to fight the wrong fight. Example, Delahoya, Marquez, Canelo. All fighters that exploit mistakes better than Hatton, Cotto, and Maidana.

The better caliber of opposition, the more defensive Mayweather gets, that simple.

Watch that Canelo fight again cause Mayweather went right at him from the beginning of the fight where as with Cotto he would get trap on the ropes and even when cotto would box he would get hit with jabshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5fRdSONTO1Qhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QNvDSU4niiM

You play to your strengths, that is why boxers always choose to box brawlers. Every guy you listed used the pressure of a brawler to fight Mayweather, it doesn't matter their skillset, if they pressure like a brawler a boxer's best course of action is to box them and use their aggression against them. Pure boxer punchers incorporate a controlled pressure, one that is aware that over pressuring can be used against them. In those times that Cotto was not exhibiting a level a pressure that could be capitalized on then Mayweather ensured to take the initiative and score first.

Mayweather simply reacts to what you do at all times and decides the best course of action from there. Canelo is good boxer puncher but he still pressures like a brawler, that makes it an easy decision for Mayweather to box him like he did. Both Cotto and Canelo tried everything in their fights against him, boxing, pressuring, brawling etc. Cotto did better because he is a better fighter, what he decided to do and when he decided to do it worked out better for him than what and when Canelo decided to do because he doesn't have as high an iq, and maybe, (I believe) because he's not quite as fast Cotto.

I actually thought Canelo and Cotto both won around 3 rds maybe 4 for CA, just done in a different way.

Canelo seemed more poised of a boxer trying to stay within a plan, Cotto due to experience was more geared towards the moment and was able to make it rougher in spots.

The best shot landed between the two was Canelo's hooks to the body which IMO seemed underrated in the bout, Cotto's only real notable punches were jabs.

Cotto is more agile on his feet, while I believe Canelo to be the better defender and inside fighter.

Cotto to this point is more versatile in his dimensions, saying that Alvarez has shown slight corrections and new wrinkles in his game in every outing since.

I think the reason Cotto looked more competitive are his two losses, after going through the trenches Cotto knew you don't always win with your first plan.
Canelo was still to young or inexperienced enough to realize when he need to switch styles and try something new.
Something IMO he's shown to be better at after watching the Lara fight, once he realized he couldn't box Lara he turned into a pressure fighter which got him the win.
