i wasn't for this fight at first but now i am...

cotto recently had a shoulder surgery, it takes 9-12 weeks to regain full strength and functionality (it also depends on the severity of the injury/surgery)

so right now its best fr cotto to have an easier fight than to prepare for someone like sergio martinez with only one arm.

That's the price you pay when you go to the most hyped trainer at the time. Everyone else wants his services, so you might not be on the top of the list.

emmanuel is like roach's girlfriend who's been with him through thick and thin. chavez jr is like the hoe who just came to play because roach won the lottery.

its pacs fault this time, he can choose to have the training camp at wild card and everyone would be happy, but he chooses to train at his office instead.

Thats a good point relentless, the only thing is my take on the fight is that its going to be a tough one for Cotto. I know most think it will be a complete blowout, i happen to think otherwise and while i hope everyone is right, i just happen to think this could turn into a rough outting for him and have thought so from the beginning, especially if hes not 100% coming off that surgery. and the man is being put in a complete lose lose situation that i dont like him being in, fighting someone who isnt even ranked in any weightclass (top 10 at least), and does nothing for Cottos stature in the divisions hes competiting in.

Its purely a money fight and a way to milk these fighters by Arum, no more, no less....

Id rather Cotto fight someone who actually fights in his divisions, be it 147 or 154, even if its a lesser ranked guy for a tune up. Fighting a middleweight Chavez is a pointless risk IMO.

This is just IMO though, i know most feel it will be a one sided beatdown...

The better sparring is in LA, but it's just a choice of do you wanna train w/ Roach or not.

roach usually pays for sparring partners to travel to where he needs them.

Good, I have little interest in this fight anyways. I'd much rather see Cotto against a top JMW or at least against Berto.

depends on the quality of fighters, apparently when he asked omar henry and sean porter they didn't accept any money because they wanted to test themselves against pac.

I heard Tyson's sparring partners used to get paid a few grand per week.

Good points. Cotto is in a moderate risk/Zero reward situation. I really think that if Junior was the bum people say he is, one of his 41 opponents would have exposed it. We would have seen a Duddy/Smichet or Vera/Lee type situation. We haven't seen that. I'll always root for Cotto, but this fight makes me a little nervous.
