I think this is a great fight, and the one I wanted to see the most out of the available opponents. It's just with all things considered, I'm surprised it's happening. With those big names on the horizon, I would've expected Top Rank to put Cotto in there with a solid name who didn't present much of a threat. That's not the route they with though. This should be a really good fight.
Yep, I agree, this should be a great fight.:good I'm excited to see if Cotto is the same fighter since that Margarito beating, not to mention changing trainers. I think Clottey is tough enough to expose him IF Cotto isn't on point anymore.
Hell yea *****...That's why I'm hoping and praying Cotto don't lose cuz I don't wanna exchange her for the two homosexuals in that disgusting pic for the avatar bet thread
I agree - Cotto has to get back to being a bodypuncher, he has gotten away from that a little in his last few fights.
Clottey is going to give Cotto hell. He's a big and strong guy with good defense, chin and counter-punching. I don't think Cotto's power will bother him one bit. Clottey isn't a big puncher but he does hit hard enough to get your respect. Don't be surprised if he catches Cotto with something he doesn't see and hurts him. With that said if Cotto boxes he should win but it won't be easy.
It should be a very good fight. Cotto will be ; well ...uh , Cotto. Clottey will need to move a little bit and look to counter Cotto's body punching.
For all those ***** loving dick suckers that are asking why this fight is happening: Well, it's happening because Cotto is a true warrior who takes on all comers and is not afraid of anyone. The guy would fight PWill if Arum would let him - I have no doubt of that. He fought Shane, He gave Margarito a shot when he could have ran like Mayweather would have done, now he is giving Clottey a shot because he is a awesome fighter and wants to prove he is the best.
How can he be giving anyone a shot when even you yourself admits that Top Rank is the one who decides whom he fights?
Remember Cotto publicly argued with Arum about Arum's handling of the Margarito case. Top Rank probably thinks Cotto will split soon anyway, so they arranged an in-house fight against a dangerous opponent. It's win-win for Top Rank, either Clottey gets over on a fleeing star, or they get a decent name on Cotto's resume for the remainder of his contract. It's a meaningful enough fight to draw fans in and make a fortune at MSG. Had Cotto been tied up for years and happy with their relationship, this fight probably wouldn't be happening. It's high risk with low financial reward. Beating Clottey doesn't give Cotto enough leverage at the bargaining table for a mega-fight.
