Cotto and his team are terrible negotiators, if ya implement a catch weight then show ya power by having it at least be 3 pounds lower.

I would like to add that I think there was something similair with ortiz vs berto, they had this 145+1 agreement, so the catchweight was at 145 but you could come in at 146:nut just fight at 147 and 154!

But you know, that's OK. Margie doesn't even deserve to be in the ring again because of what he did. That man should be on his hands and knees thanking his Puerto Rican benefactor for giving him the chance to fight professionally one more time.

Does this really help/hurt either fighter? I doubt either has trouble making 154 and both blown up welterweights anyway....... Whatever.

This makes me question the intelligence of Cotto and his team, putting forth a 150 pound catch weight would have been smart on their part, this is so stupid that I'm at a lost for words.

My thoughts exactly. Both are more natural welterweights so it's likely that both would have come in under 154 lbs anyway. What a lame negotiation deal.

The 1 pound is purely for mind games, pretty stupid but Manny wants to get as many advantages as he can

I don't think Miguel can stop Margo, but I think he will win impressively and by a fairly comfy UD... 7-4 rounds and 1 even type of thing

Exactly, both would have came in a couple of ounces over 153 anyhow but now that I think about both will come in a little under 153, my goodness this is ******ed.

Thats my prediction as well, I also think the judges will give it to cotto if its really close based on what margarito did.
Almsot everyone (except most mexicans and cotto haters) want miguel to redeem himself with this one. If he fails in december he might as well retire.

If Cotto has the stamina to box the whole 12 rounds he can win, but I feel he'll get tired and then he's done

I think of an outcome similar to the first fight.

Maybe Cotto feels more comfortable at 153, as he was for the Foreman fight, than weighing-in at the limit, as he did for his last fight vs Mayorga. Cotto's the one calling the shots, Margarito after the suspension and brutal loss to Pac had nowhere to go but to accept his demands. This is kind of like the Pac-Cotto negotiation, Pac wanted 142, they settled on 145. Atleast the fights finally on.
