Or just fight at 140 and clean that **** up. I think 140 is a great wieght for PAC right now. If anyone wants to make a fight with the current 140 pound king pin that is Manny....they should have to make the sacrafice IMO. They are looking for PAC and PAC is looking for a challenge. He has a few at 140 although not a big as Floyd, Cotto, Marg, Clottley ect who all are WW's. Bradely, holt, witter...decent names and good fighters to keep PAC busy.
It's not even of being fair or meeting at an agreeable weight: team Pacquiao wants to enter the ring against a high profile/quality opponent that is dehydrated to capitalize like they did against ODLH. I would def like to see Mosley vs Cotto 2 but have three things in mind: 1. Arum promotes both Pac and Cotto and is pushing for the fight so the fight will be easier to make. 2. Pac, I believe will bring more money than Mosley. 3. Cotto already beat Mosley.
And then there is always JMM at 140 after his fight with Floyd...which I think speaks to the kind of warrior JMM is. I just don't give him much of a shot at 144 against Floyd.
I doubt you saw the pre-Kosta Tzsyu, Hatton. Hatton had skill. He could box & was on his way to becoming a good pressure fighter.... rather than an inside-BRAWL&MAULER. He actually used to jab!! & even move his head a little! hah. Juan Diaz and that Ricky Hatton are quite similar... despite the fact that Juan Diaz doesn't have the power that Hatton has/had. Problem was, he developed such a rapturous following that technique often went out the window.. and it was all about fighting with only his heart... on the back of 20,000+ Brits creating atmospheres which were previously only found in European Futbol stadia. Especially post-Tszyu, where he kept coming forward like a Juggernaut and eating punches (even IF KT was on the downslide of his career.... and was getting manhandled, arguably too much license WAS given to Hatton). It's all immaterial now, anyway...
It's not impossible but he's barely been hit above 135. Getting hit by a few Hatton punches is like a small hammer compared to Cotto (a ****'n sledge hammer)
i've heard the same bull**** before... let's just see if it happens. pac has a habit of surprising people.
LOL! PAC isn't the one who forced the fight...that was DLH. And to be honest, Oscar completely was confident in a win over the "SMALLER" man. PAC was the one moving up 2 Weight classes above his natrual division to make the fight happen and NO ONE really gave PAC a chance to win aside from a few DIE HARD fans.
Obviously Pac's own trainer doesn't think so since he wants to fight at a catchweight, which is understandable. IMO Pac's weight limit is 140, nothing more.
You never heard me say Pac would lose to ODLH or Hatton. I expected him to win. Cotto @ 147 is different.
Hatton and cotto have comparable power, comparable speed and a comparable style although Cotto has more boxing skills. With that said Cotto will have a difficult time fighting PAC at any wieght. The speed and dynamics that PAC holds will be trouble for Cotto who will struggle with PACs speed and stamina should the fight make it to the later rounds.
i pick pac to beat cotto at 147... if you think pac doesn't have a chance then it's you that has a problem.
