Does anyone think mayweather and cotto will happen in the spring. I like how people are underestimating hatton. Becasue for all out action cotto hatton fight will be better than cotto mayweather.
this is far from a robbery, u want to talk about robbery, talk about casamayor last night or other fights such as the castillo/mayweather fight... cotto fought an intelligent fight, he was the aggressor in the beginning and then had to adapt esp to mosleys hugging and grabbing, he knew he wouldnt be able to get a ko, so he began his new role of becoming of what many people never thought he could do... that grab everyone by surprise esp. mosley.... just give the guy props and move on...
I laugh at the guys on this forum, saying how Mayweather would completetly fool Cotto and box him to a pulp. Cotto fought some very decent opponents and destroyed em, and now he met Shane Mosley and had a hard fought battle and obviously won a close but clear decision(In my view). He landed the clearer shots, and the eleventh round was clearly Cotto's, he was backpedaling but landing the more effective shots. He was head to head about the same as one of the best 140-147lbs'ers of all times, I see a competetive fight between him and Floyd.. Floyd hasn't really been dominating his opponents recently either, and I would say Shane & Judah is more valuable wins than DLH & Judah. Cotto showed that he had ring smarts, he had a very effective defense and showed he can adapt to almost any given situation. Cotto - PBF = COMPETETIVE! Hatton will surprise a lot of Floyd huggers, he'll give him a freaking hard fight, Judah and DLH gave Floyd fits for a couple of rounds, well.. Hatton is capable of doing it for the full 12 rounds.
Missed the fight unfortunately due to setanta cocking it up. Was it a candidate for fight of the year.
it was a good fight, both fighters fought well, they were times were mosleys hugging and grabbing were getting annoying, but thats part of boxing, i still will choose the judah/cotto fight over this one, just my opinion...
you are entitle to your opinion, but many and even mosley knew he lost the fight, if anyone is to blame for this decision is mosley himself from his grabbing and hugging, its hard to score rounds with that style of fight...
Shane pressed the fight, particularly down the stretch. I had it even through 8 but Shane swept the last 4 while Cotto -- the 'pressurer' -- was dinged in the 9th and 10th and ran like De La Hoya vs Trinidad. Shane closed the show, bottom line. I respect your opinion. But Shane never said he lost. Don't mistake class with admitting defeat. Shane's in a good place, and knows whining would make him look bad. Props to him.
Shane swpetd the last 4 :huh hmm I have to disagree even when Mosley backed Cotto up Cotto landed the better shots .
castillo and de la hoya pressured floyd and had joy doing it, you know why? because they were both leading with good jabs. newsflash..... HATTON DOESN'T HAVE A JAB!! ricky is gonna get battered.
mosley clearly didnt sweep the last 4 rounds... you could tell in any fighters face if he really believes if he won the fight... he knew he lost, i never said he said it verbally... you saw it in his eyes... and theres nothing wrong by saying that you think you won... as long as as you dont take it as far as james toney and whine about it...
