It's possible because he is the better skilled fighter, but lemieux is bigger and punches like a mule, so it would be a very difficult fight for Cotto to win.

If its the Cotto from the Canelo fight then Lemieux is toast imo. Marco Antonio Rubio is a solid Journeyman with suspect defense and a suspect chin and he not only survived Lemieux, but outsmarted him and KHTFO. Cotto is not going to become a caveman overnight and stand toe to toe neglecting his skill and ring IQ, he will break Lemieux down with speed, timing, and clean punches to the body and head.
Lemieux is gonna land on cotto at some point and it will be over soon after cotto is not a middleweight unless the fights at a catch weight
