THANK YOU. BEat me to it! Crazy how this board is full of bashers 4 a guy that has fought the best and has only 2 losses while doing it, AND BOTH with asterisks on it... there's no worst blind than the one who doesn't want to see! Yeaaahh, why not?... let me take this opportunity to bash the little guy whom everybody treats like a semi-god and didn't want to take fair tests for PED'S using the latest, most accurate technology available!! To me, that's clearer than the air .... if you don't do it, you take the test, no excuses there, the ONLY ONE reason to want to skip on them is because you r doing it! Incredible how so many ppl believe all the excuses this guy has made... then again that fits the DEFINITION of fanatism... remember Guyana, Waco among others... all their followers believed every single thing their object of delusion would tell them.. no questions asked..:bowdown Whatever you say is right, li'l guy. At least you got them into believing it.

He's had a good career, and will probably add another title at another weight and another name on the resume should he beat Foreman.

So that'd be wins over Foreman, Quintana, Judah, Malignaggi, Torres, N'Dou and Mosley.

Plus 4 world titles at 3 different weights.

That puts him alongside guys like Barrera and Morales.

I think Top Rank put him against Mosley because they felt Mosley wasn't a big threat considering Mosley hadn't beat anyone really good since 2003.

I'm sure at that time TR thought Mosley was way past it.

Against Margarito Arum basically rolled the dice, whatever the outcome he would have a more marketable fighter in the winner.

Now, Top Rank is just trying to squeeze him for anything he has left.

I just posted the following on the other Cotto thread:

Cotto is one fighter that has consistently fought the best.

While this is admirable, I can't help but feel it's been his undoing. He has been mis-managed slightly, as his career has been set at a 100mph since I can remember. There have been numerous back to back wars he's been involved in, yet he was never given the chance to recuperate with a few comfortable bouts here and there.

That Margarito fight was excruciating, the type that 99% of other fighters would never recover from. Cotto only gives himself one fight (Jennings) before stepping in with another tough opponent in Clottey, which then took even more out of him. Then to make things worse, the following guy he steps in the ring with is one that's been on a relentless war path, brutally blowing away his last 3 opponents.

Such a shame when you think about it

Not any two ordinary losses though. Late stoppages against big-punchers after taking an absolute beating in both fights. They are tough to come-back from. He seemed to of lost his way a bit after the Margo defeat, and now it's going to be even harder coming back from the Pacquiao beating.

Good points. But on the flip side I think fighting the best makes you a better fighter. If your not gonna fight the best you may as well quit.
