He has a good chance of getting a Canelo fight if he wants it. Just because an agreement isn't reached during the first round of negotiations doesn't mean it can't happen in the future, look at Floyd vs Pac. I think he could possibly fight Floyd again. Money talks.
Cotto is really a 147 fighter , I dont like the fight at all. GGG absolutely demolishes a fighter I really like who is just too small for this division and fought a light punching natural 154 fighter for the middleweight title. Give it up and fight Khan , Bradley , Maidana etc.
I wouldn't say he's a diva. He's fought damn near everyone. He understands he is a commodity. And he will take his business elsewhere, if he's not being treated right. Any self respecting person would do that. Now, as far as GGG, Cotto needs to relinquish that belt, if he is looking to defend against some cupcake. Cotto should be treated as the A side in any affair except with Floyd or Manny. Canelo should fight when and where Cotto wants, if he wants that fight.
So all you PBF gave him a pass when he refused to fight Manny, so what's the dif fence with Cotto statement...he want to make his money before fighting GGG,Cotto's career speaks for itself....I'll for will give him a pass on this one
My point was that he shouldn't be holding the 160lb title if he plans to cherry pic the division. Just like Floyd's defense of 154/147 title to maidana or Manny's 154 title.
i have never seen anyone soooo concerned or worried about a goddamn tittle. Op, relax, breathe. ggg is gonna get his, and have a nice career , lineal or no lineal so chill. he should go to 168 were he belongs anyways. too strong for most of 160's. he is wasting his time. chavez jr is the perfect fight for him to test the 168 waters
He was absolutely disrespected by Arum/Top Rank after he brought a known cheater name back into the fray by setting him up with a fall guy, then landing him fight with Pac, which put him into position to rematch Cotto when Cotto knew he could never have gotten himself in that position on his own since he had cheated his way anywhere in the first place. I'm sure Cotto would not have cared if he got himself into rematch position on his own but to have been given it by Arum, Cotto felt like he was being forced to rematch a worthless scumbag who did not deserve/earn it. That whole deal was absolutely disrespectful, and from the sound of things recently, Cotto got him back baaaaad...good for him.
He's getting old and has taken a lot of punishment. What would be the point of taking a high risk low reward fight? I imagine right now he's just looking for the easy paydays. He's already shown the world what he can do.
