What, all time? So what? His resume at 140lbs is solid and consistent, who cares if there didn't happen to be a prime ATG on there? Do they grow on trees? Dude, if he is so much as competitive with Canelo at this stage - 33 with lots of tread on his tires, already champion in a Puerto Rican history-making four classes - enough to bag a few rounds, say as many as he did from Mayweather, it only makes him shine all the more. You need to get a grip.

Anyone bashing cottos accomplishment has to be young and were wetting their beds when he was destroying good solid fighters.
The fact that he's in the discussion to face them after being written off on multiple occasions speaks well of his career trajectory.
Sorry why can't he beat Lara or canelo? Lara is there to be hit and was getting beat up by Angulo who isn't a fraction of the fighter cotto is. And canelo can't deal with with a good boxer and hasn't fought anyone as good as cotto aside from Floyd who embarrassed him. Go watch him struggle against Alfonso Gomez.
lara gave angulo a hematoma and won by tko. angulo is way bigger than cotto and more powerful/resilient. canelo can't beat a good boxer but beat austin trout who cotto could not? cotto never beat a better boxer than trout. the floyd fight is irrelevant because cotto's gameplan will be to bring the fight to canelo, so canelo doesn't have to chase and will obliterate cotto with counters, hurt him, then walk him down.
I'm not disputing either one won't beat him, but I don't think it will be easy. I'd have those fights as pickems.
There's always one (usually more) complete twats that love nothing more than to diminish great fighters records, usually because they simply don't like the fighter. Pretty sad really.
There's always been a need, an agenda to write Cotto off as "Shot" He was shot after Margarito of course so we can't credit Pacman for a great win. He was shot after Pacman, so you can't credit Mayweather for a great win. Now he is the lineal MW Champion. While I believe Cotto is finally winding down, he's a huge middle finger to the modern boxing fan idealogy that "one loss=damanged goods/shot" Maybe, just maybe, Mayweather and Pacman were better than him? But he's an outstanding fighter, regardless. All time great? Pretty damn close.
