Could anyone out slug young Foreman?

I'm almost thinking Jimmy Young might do it

I think Lennox Lewis would have flattened him early as a stand top guy like George was made for him ... George was on his way to being the best he could be after Lyle ... he looked amazing in the Frazier rematch adding to his game poise and straight punching but was still mentally under developed and it showed vs Young.

 

I don’t mean pure outslugging. But since we have been listing some odd ball people that could beat George…I think David Haye wins maybe 4 out of 10 fights with him.

He’s more athletic and elusive than Young and has legit power.

And 70s Foreman’s was any better? One right hand by Lyle almost felled him, Young used him as a bobble head and Ali hurt him plenty that’s his “iron chin” feats? or do we want to run to the 80s-90s version that was lbs and lbs heavier to fill in the gaps for 70s GF?

 

Razor Ruddock might have a chance. The Ruddock that lasted the distance against Tyson showed he could take world class heavyweight power. He also showed better stamina than young Foreman. In theory, if he could last to the mid rounds, he'd have the power to put Foreman away. Also the same for Ray Mercer. If Mercer had been in with Foreman rather than Lyle, Foreman may have been the one counted out.

 

again spewing w zero knowledge. Riddick Bowe was flattened multiple times as an amateur. He was overpowered and embarrassed by Lewis in the Olympics. His management made sure to avoid every top puncher on his way to the title and his wats w Holyfield, while great, were not against a top puncher. Name one other top puncher he fought. The answer is no one . He gave up his title rather than fight Lewis as a pro.

Ron Lyle was a big time puncher who fought a comebacking Foreman inactive for fourteen months after a huge loss. Foreman came back to win. He did twice crush Frazier , a big puncher and Norton, also a very solid puncher.He went on to show a terrific chin in career two.

 

You’ve obviously never seen Liston on the inside.

 

I think it is a hard sell, building the case based on someone who lost in his attempt to outslug George Foreman, but carry on.

Against 70s Foreman Frazier and Norton didn’t do anything in either fight? you want to use those as a demonstration of his chin? Literally no one else would LOL… Got it you’ve got nothing just Lyle who decked him and the 80s-90s to run to LIKE I SAID. Bowe had a solid chin like Foreman’s nothing special Golota, Holyfield and Tubbs hit probably about as hard as an Ali or Young which seems about 70s GF’s threshold once he faced a real puncher he was almost out like a light… similar to when Bowe was rocked to his boots by Herbie Hide (his debatable only puncher opponent also) a Lyle sized guy who was about as good, I’d say evidence suggests there isn’t a lot between 70s GF’s chin and Bowes that’s my final say with you, I’m tired of folks like you writing the same thing with different handles, it’s unoriginal and boring almost dogmatic.

 

Ohh .. I don't think so. He's the greatest (RIP my man) puncher ever. He would KO Fury, for example, in 3 rounds.

 

You think it’s a hard sell that Prime GF could lose to great fighters in a brawl? when he was almost stopped in the fight of his life by a bang average fighter who could punch hard? A guy 8 years older on a losing streak against Young and Ali? A guy they chose to make him look good? Like come on there are guys better and bigger than Lyle out there and they’d bring home the bacon.
