Must have been close because Cortez went to the Khan corner at the end of the round and said he'll stop if Khan takes too much punishment, or something to that effect.

It's a World title fight, no way should it have been stopped. Khan was still reacting and managed to keep on his toes and get away. If Maidana had him tied down on the ropes and landing without a reply then it could and would have been stopped.

I agree I would not be surprised after the body shot in the first when Maidana was wincing on the floor if it was stopped in the UK.

it was a title fight so i think it was the right decision to let them carry on but i dont think their would of been much of a fuss if he did. cortez seemed to be on khans side through the fight. he always seems to pick a fighter to help. the guy pisses me off

it was close I think but being champion he deserved every opportunity.

however he was covering up and he was using his legs to get out of dodge, never threw much and that is always dangerous because another ref may have stepped in.

If the fight happened here with a British ref then I think it would have been stopped.

It would have been harsh but i thought by not throwing back he was leavin Cortez open to stop it if he had wanted to.

If that was over here tho you can guarantee it would have been stopped.

Khan should be glad he didnt have the ref that was in the Bellew fight last night or Maidana would now be the WBA champion.

Many refs would have stopped Khan there. He's lucky he has a granite chin.

Imagine if the fight had been in Agentina? It would have been stopped in Maidana's favour. Lets face it Khan was out on his feet at least twice and Cortex blatently helped him out several times. Khan is just an Amateur doing the extra rounds and will be found out every time he gets in close and hit on the chin. Please do not mention him in the same breath as Mayweather and Pacman.

It was a title fight and Khan was comfortably ahead on the cards, so it shouldn't have been stopped. Plus Khan was doing enough to avoid a lot of Maidana's punches..holding, dodging, moving around, keeping a high guard.
