Was 38 and Holy almost got knocked out by a forty year old foreman. Skill wise Moore was still there and who’s to say he meets Moore when Marciano did? Question was can he go 49-0 in the 50s not follow Marcianos path. I’m not confident he beats Harold Johnson and Moore everytime. I’m sure he ain’t beating marciano or Liston. The rest (Walcott and Charles in the 50s can see him winning prime I’m not so sure). But just my opinion. These people are far different looking fighters without PEDS and weights and skill for skill he’s just not as good.

I've already explained why. I do not see the achievement of the feat as probable, due to any number of unforeseen circumstances, regardless of what one thinks about the quality of opposition.

You are pushing an idea which, if the circumstances as you have laid out had come to pass would have, in theory, been possible. But, in theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not. (Einstein?)

Holyfield was never in danger of being kod by Foreman. Why was the number 49-0 mentioned if not to compare him to Marciano do you think its a coincidence? lol The OP said the 210lbs version of Holyfield in his first post so you can stop right there.

Holy could go thru Marciano's entire resume AND Marciano in 24 months. He had far better sparring partners.

All due respect, mcvey, but I would watch that fight again. Holyfield was in serious trouble in the early rounds and in round 10.

Holyfield could beat them all, at the same time. You can even throw old Foreman in there for fun.

Wow. That’s even worse. The one result that put Peralta in the ratings was a bad decision.

This certainly must put Peralta about the same level Ted Lowry.

There’s more chance Ted Lowry got One decent result among his draws with Oma and Savold and the win over Reynolds.

And the result that made Marciano the winner after being in danger of being stopped 3 times was a good decision?

Maybe if your manager was also the matchmaker for MSG you'd have a better chance?

I want the link. Do you have it? Third time asking.

That tale of the tape if from the Fitzsimmons fight, it reads 48 1/2 inch chest which is 1 1/2 inches away from what was said. Jeffries got a little bigger as his career progressed in weight, so 50" is very likely at some point in his career. You prove my point. As we know, or you should know, tale of the tapes can vary. Take note every tale of the tape in the press for his fights has Jeffries above 6' tall. Most often reported is 6'1 1/2.

I showed you a tale of the tape that said over 30" thighs.

I’m sorry that can’t be said with any accuracy whatsoever. We don’t have footage of the fight and it really wasn’t that close. In all the biographies no one ever speaks of this fight at all. With no signs of any foul play. Yet it’s consistently brought up here as fact because of one writers opinion. Writers I would hope most people know are wrong often.

In regards to the Lowry fight written in Rocky Marciano biography of a first son

Lowry was a defensive fighter; he didn’t throw many hard punches but seldom took any. Rocky kept battering tiger to the body, trying to bring his defenses down, but he knew how to take the punches and held on for the ten round distance.
“It was good experience”, Columbo told a disconsolate Rocky in the dressing room. “You won the decision Easy. You just can’t expect to knock everybody out”.
“I should have had him,” Rocky kept saying, and he was almost as disgusted as if he lost the fight.

Doesn’t sound very controversial. Sounds like a savvy vet have a young fighter a hard EARNED victory. With zero references of being injured. Never have I seen any reference that he was hurt other then that one writer. That and we had first hand knowledge of someone who was there in this group (i don’t think they post anymore or have passed) but they even said nothing controversial and the booing was because they wanted a Ko. If I’m remembering there account accurately.
