He could but what's the point? He is destroying heavyweights if he comes down to 205 then he'll be favored to beat everybody including shogun and machida at the same time:lol::lol:

:roll: Randy Couture? And whats he going to do get Choi to ground and submit him with an "Angle Lock?" GTFO out of here with that ****. Minowa beat Choi on the mat not because he took Choi down (which Fedor didnt either) but because he has a great array of foot holds, ankle locks, toe holds, knee bars etc. Minowa was not the favourite and not expected to win. Theres no way in a million years Manhoef is going to beat Choi thats a ridiculous reach. Shogun, may be, as he has good JJ on the mat but again even thats a reach.

Now wether you retrospectively think Sylvia is now suddenly garbage is irrelavent. The FACT is he held the UFC heavy title twice, contested a UFC title 4 times and has defended the UFC title numerous times. Now all of a sudden anyone can beat him because Fedor destroyed him in 30 odd seconds? Again GTFO out of with this UFC schill bull****.

Apples and Oranges. Those are the rules. That doesnt make them any less of a striker. Choi's had success in the K1 the same as Schilt because of their size. That alone is formidable enough for most heavyweight opponents.

I take it you never heard of Mark Kerr? Yeah he was only 260lbs sopping wet.
How about a prime Mark Coleman? Yeah he went around 245lbs. Oh wait a minute Valasquez weighs the same?!? Then again prime Kerr was 10 times the fighter Carwin is and essentially the same weight.
What about Josh Barnett? Another small heavyweight that Randy couldnt deal with. How much does Josh weigh these days 250 or so?
Ricco Rodriguez? 6ft 4 and 230lbs in his prime. Another "small" heavy that Randy couldnt deal with. But hey Big Timmy beat him right?
Everyone here remembers prime Goodridge in the early UFC's and over in PRIDE. Another 6ft 3 250lb plus man that succumbed to another small heavy in Gilbert Yvel.
How about Ricardo Morais? Remember his tussle with Coleman and how nervous Coleman was prior to the bout because of Morais's sheer size? Remember that "small" heavy Fedor's brother? Aleks something? 6ft 6 250 plus lbs with fast hands and good power. He turned Morais into a pack of dominoes.

PRIDE had THE BEST heavyweight division in the early 2000's. Fedor Barnett CC and Big Nog all made serious careers there. Matter of fact Coleman who was unducted into the HOF by the UFC wasnt even a fraction of the fighter that the aforementioned were in PRIDE and got his ass handed to him by CC and Fedor. If you want to nitpick and push your gestapo crap do it over at Sherdog. Dont bring that crud here.

Except Minowa DID take Choi down (multiple times) and he heel hooked him from on top. I can't think of a single top 20 LHW that I wouldn't pick to beat Choi. FFS the guys only pro wins are against Jose Canseco and Bobby Ologun. Now your picking him to beat Couture?

Well tell you what write to Dana tell him to sign Choi so Randy can build his superman resume even more. Oh wait a minute Dana doesnt do freakshows..
    O yeah before i forget :lol::lol::lol:

  7. Normally there is a weight division so that there isnt such a mis-match. Let me put it this way so you could understand it, how many MW or LHW that can beat Brock Lesnar? Now add skills, experience, cardio, killer punch, superb grappling to Brock Lesnar and you would have Fedor.........

couture is really over appreciated these days. you would think he was undefeated.

    oh wait..........

hung man choi is not so good, and I wouldnt pick him over couture, but to be honest couture is not a consistent fighter, in fact I would describe him as the most highly rated inconsistant fighter in mma which is saying a lot.

Its this simple Coutures record against BIG heavyweights is woeful. Apart from Tim he's consistently got his ass handed to him by big heavyweights. The UFC joyboys would have you believe that Randy can ****ing fly. I got alot of time for Randy but you have to call a spade a spade. Choi is a formidable opponent purely because of his size and striking capability. Minowa heel hooks Choi and now all of a sudden any light heavy can now take Choi? Its bull****. Anyone that trys to say otherwise is clearly blinkered.

why should fedor move down to 205? because he finally lost?

I think he could make 205 and probably without much effort. but what would be the point?

Plenty of the guys a light heavy walk around at about 225-230, chuck, couture, rampage, forrest, tito. I dont know about shogun or machida, and I know rashad used to fight at heavy. I dont think he would have a significant size advantage over the majority of lhw.

The point is if Minowa can put Choi's ass on the mat with those awful takedowns (the heel hook is irrelevant) then any top 20 LHW most certainly could as well. Not only that but the dudes 2-3 with his only MMA wins coming against a retired baseball player and a comedian. There's absolutely no reason anyone should pick Choi over Couture or any serious MMA practitioner for that matter.

  12. HW - Brock Lesnar (USA)
    LHW - Mauricio Rua (BRAZIL)
    MW - Anderson Silva (BRAZIL)
WW - Georges St. Pierre (CANADA)
    LW - Frankie Edgar (USA)

In the history of the UFC, they only had TWO (2) non American fighters, Bas Rutten from the Netherlands and Andrei Arlovski from Belarus. The fact is that anyone homegrown in America would have their fans, anyone from Brazil also have their fans, and anyone from Canada would also have strong support within USA. America has a large subsection of the community who support Canadians and South Americans.

A guy from the other side of the world simply, who cant talk english and who refuses to train and live in America simply isnt marketable.

250+lbs fighters have existed since the inception of MMA. I actually feel that the current HW champions in Zuffa have reverted back to the very early days of MMA where fighters were not MMA fighters..........Brock for example is a very good wrestler but not a good grappler or good at striking etc.

Show me ONE 250lbs fighter with size, speed and skill. The two that most fits this bill is Overeem and Josh Barnett, both fighters arent one of the new breeds. Both fighters are big, both are quick, and both are skilled in all facets of MMA.

If these new UFC HW's ever decided to fight in Strikeforce against Fedor and Overeem or even against Barnett, they would quickly learn the lesson that HMC, Zulu, Mir, Hunt learnt i.e. size and weight isnt everything. Gassing after 1 round also isnt an option against proven fighters with cardio like Fedor (so there goes Carwin).

America = top control > actual strikes
Japan = strikes and sub attempts > top control.

King Mo had top control but Gegard was more active, threw more punches and connected more. The American system is biased to wrestlers who just tries to lay on a person, in Japan their system promotes a more exciting and aggressive game.

Seeing how poorly Brock defended against kicks and punches, im absolutely confident that Fedor would knock him out in the first round. Oh BTW the fights start out standing, and Fedor has a far better ground game if it ever makes it to ground.

Lesnar, Cain, JDS and Carwin HAVE NEVER FOUGHT A LEGIT K1 LEVEL STRIKER IN THEIR LIFE, I dont think this is an accident.

Exactly, ONE JAB and around 2-3 GnP is called dominating nowadays? You've got to be kidding me.

Exactly, they have unfairly become garbage simple because he isnt in bed with Zuffa. This is both unfair and wrong, Sylvia is still a dangerous opponent what has proven himself. A fighter is good because of how he fights, not because of the promotion he works for.

I was talking about Sylvia with Couture, or do you think the extra 20-30lbs Couture had won him that fight? Same with Minowa, I said Minowa could beat Choi, because he beat Choi.

Do you really think a lot of top 10 205'ers couldn't beat Sylvia? Shogun, Machida? Mo Lawal?

Now for Choi; he didn't just get unlucky against Minowa, he got dominated and looked clueless off his back. Against CroCop he looked slow and ate leg kicks until he got stopped by one.

There are much better leglock specialists than Minowa, Toquinho for one, and there are plenty of better overall grapplers who would beat Choi even easier; you don't have to be a leglock specialist. Cacareco, for example would make Choi look much worse than Minowa did.

CroCop beat him by kicking the **** out of his legs, why couldn't Manhoef do the same? Manhoef probably has the better leg kicks of the two.

You seem to think Choi is a great MMA fighter, the fact is he has never beaten a serious fighter, not even anybody close to a serious fighter. He has beat a baseball player and a comedian, that is it.

Explain how pointing out that a lot of fighters (both in and out of the UFC) would beat Choi or Sylvia is "UFC shill bull****"?

I mean we are dealing in facts here, Sylvia got demolished by Couture, and Choi got demolished by Minowa. It's hard to argue that there aren't guys 205 or smaller that couldn't beat them when it has already happened.

Really, what more needs to be said, it's been proven.

What exactly are you getting at?

All I am saying is that there are 205lber's and below, who can and have beat HMC and Sylvia.

You somehow take that into "Lesnar has no skills, experience, cardio, punch, or grappling." You're a sad, pathetic, small minded man.

Just what are you basing this on? The only fighters Choi has beat in MMA are Jose Conseco and Bobby Olegun, he has not proven a single ****ing thing, other than he can do some damage with ground and pound if you end up underneath him, and he did that in one fight.

He lost every second of the CroCop and Choi fights, start to finish, total domination.

What exactly do you see in Choi to suggest he is anything close to an MMA fighter? Really, what is the high point of his MMA career?
