a "few" write Hamed off for his once defeat vs BArrera. They forget him at his brilliant best 4 years previous. Hamed by Brutal KO (at his PEAK)

I was thinking about this while watching the fight.

Manny was lunging in and was getting caught repeatedly, but JMM never comitted enough to really hurt him often. Against Hamed, a guy with more speed and power than Marquez, Pac would be eating huge uppercuts every time he lunged in. I don't care how good the guy's chin is, nobody is going to eat many Hamed bombs and stay upright.

The other conclusion I came to last night is that Pac should stay well away from Hatton. If the fight ever came off, Hatton would rip him to the body with his left hook all night long. The physical disparity would prove too great in the end.

Hell yeah he knocks out Pac ...

He has more power, awkward style and Pac can't box ...

Hamed's unorthodox style would confuse Pacquiao ...

Hamed had nukes in those gloves. Yes, Hamed could knock him cold.

who actually did hamed beat? Ingle, kelley, mcculloough, medina, vasquez. Good fighters but not exactly great. i am not sure that these fighters evenhad half the skill-set of jmm. (I had seen Kelley, medina, soto fought in their primes)

When he was a featherweight fighter, there were already a lot of great mexican fighters around in the 122-126 division like JMM, MAB, EM, even Cobrita Gonzales, yet Hamed chose to fight most of his fights in his backyards against good opposition.

there is simply no way of knowing how good he could be because he never fought outside his comfort zone. And when he fought a great fighter, he was manhandled so bad (not an actual beating but more of the psychological aspect).

You are quite right there too. He had the height of a bantamweight and had fought at both bantam and superbantam. However, probably because he believed his own hype (and thus trained poorly or whatever you believe the story behind his downfall), he balooned to featherweight, which is probably the maximum he could reach. at 5'4 or more appropriately, about 5'3", he is quite small for a featherweight. Even MAB was bigger than he is (funny how easily MAB threw Hamed to the turnbuckle in that fight), and EM would have a 4 inch height and reached advantage over him. Even Pac who has a 68 reach would be at advantage against Hamed at 64.

    at 126, I'd say yes.

at 130, Pacquiao seems to have settled comfortably into the weight and his chin seems very solid. No telling what 130 would do to hamed, so I can't call it.

Hamed is not an ATG. Pac would break Hameds body and definitely would not get up if he is hit with the same punch Marquez received in rd 3. Some people just overrates Hamed as if he WAs RJJ in the lower wieght division.

At 126 yes.. But the Pac or JMM that came to fight last night at 130 in the shape they were in, No.. The shots JMM was taking from Pac and vice versa last night, In my opinion had alot more power than what Hamed could ever throw... Both hit extremely hard last night... Pac had one punch that landed on a glove that pushed JMM back several feet.

Hamed could knock out anyone with his freakish power but he sure as hell wouldn't knock out Pacquiao if they fought

Pac has good, but not freaish power. Hamed put people to sleep, while Pac just puts people down.
