In a thread today juppity mentioned some thing that was spot on. Regarding Norton been similar to holy field.in some ways. So Norton v bowe. I no ken had no luck against the big bangers but I don't class bowe in that league. Norton beat a still young ali and almost beat holmes so definitely in with a chance against riddick. I believe so. I don't see a foreman blow out and the longer fight the better for Norton.
Prime4prime - Bowe by KO. In his prime Bowe hit pretty hard, ask Evander, ask very tough Jesse Ferguson (KO'd cold in 2), Bert Cooper and others Norton has a good chance vs Bowe from Golota fights, especially 2nd fight where Bowe gassed early and lost his power
Hey big guy, good to hear from u. I can see where your coming from pal. I just get a feeling of pumped up, motivated Norton could give bowe a cracking fight and just maybe win. He would have to survive the big punches from bowe but If can do that take him in to later rounds he could possibly do it
I love Ken Norton but this isn't a match that I like for him. While I don't see Bowe utterly destroying Ken in only two rounds the way that Foreman did, I think there'd still a stoppage more sooner than later. Riddick was big, strong, hard hitting and physically imposing. He was also brutal on the inside and Norton couldn't fight off the back foot terribly well. Ken might have his moments and put up a better fight than some think. But at the end of the day there are some opponents that are better steered clear of.
riddick bowe never ever was rated as a very hard puncher . said by several sparring partners and evander did not rate him as one of the hardest hitters that he fought.( yes, bowe dropped evander and henrry cooper dropped ali and cooper was not one of the hardest punchers that ali fought)
I know. On the other hand, if we compare Bowe to McCall (someone mention him as a very hard hitter) Bowe KO 2 Butler MCCall Wdes10 Butler Bowe KO2 Ferguson McCall Wdes10 Ferguson Bowe KO1 Seldon McCall KO9 Seldon It's safe to say Bowe hit harder than McCall who was mentioned by some as a very hard hitter (I disagree with that statement)
