Idk. Could see even Maurice Harris beating him on a good night(keyword there) we all know how inconsistent he could be. Barrett is no sure bet either. I don't see how he beats hard hitting, but chinny types like Maskaev or Jefferson either. I just wasn't convinced of HW Roy being a real force in the division. He only had one fight there, not enough to tell us how he'd do in the division. But given his chin problems, and small size I don't think he'd fair all too well.

He didn't need many fights at the weight, to give me an idea of how he'd have done against other guys at the weight. He was still as fast and as sharp as he'd been at LHW just prior. That tells me that his speed and skill could have overcome a few HW's, especially not the giants. I don't see why you don't think he could have beaten Toney and Evander. Mike was also shot at that point.

Anyone saying no is hating. Come on. Beating Valuev isn't all that different a proposition than beating Ruiz. They were of a level. (and Valuev lost to small-end heavyweights unofficially on three occasions, two of them with former cruisers, albeit officially on just two - so there was precedent for a much smaller guy with the right game plan beating him...and the Jones that fought Ruiz is probably superior to shot old Holyfield at the very least - whom most feel the judges screwed - if not the versions in question of Haye & Chagaev)

    :good

Roy would probably have won pretty easily, and then taken heavy criticism on here afterwards.

Depends if Jones fought Valuev like Haye did I have no doubt Jones would win. If he fought Valuev like Chagaev did he would get KOed.

Jones prancing around to a sparring session like UD is not hard to see happening.

Tarver punches harder than Valuev. Of that I've little doubt.

Louden and the other Jones fanatics in this thread seem to think that all heavyweights punch harder than Tarver, I claimed that Tarver hit much harder than Ruiz and they laughed at me.

If Jones were to win it would be worse than the Haye/Holyfield fights combined... Lots of running from Jones, little action, with Valuev coming forward the entire fight. Valuev as crude as he was actually BOXED unlike Ruiz, he actually beat some decent heavyweights without cheating, and he knocked some of them out! I see two possible scenarios. Either a Valuev knockout, or a MD/SD for either guy in an absolutely abysmal fight.
