Could Sugar Ray Leonard be top 10 fighter of all time?

Hagler is the best middleweight of all time.

 

Its not unheard of to have him in the top 10. I personally have him at number 15 on my ever changing list.

and let's not forget that Duran started out as a bantamweight. his best weight was 135. Leonard began his career above 140.

Picture Duran at a natural weight of 145-147 and 5,6 years younger. There's no way SRL is going to ever hold him off.

Duran's a lightweight, always will be for me. that's where he made history and those were his best years. above 135 he is an also ran. An excellent one but just an also ran.

hagler was at the end of his career and finished as a fighter, both mentally and physically very deteriorated. As mentioned during the fight by commentator Ryan "sugar ray said he was counting on the slowness of hagler, said he'd lost a lot of speed"

that cheapens it for me. Yes, he had the name but no longer the ability so a points win over a shell is meaningless

I would have been more impressed with wins over brash big mouths like Pryor, or Nunn, or the silent but deadly threat of Donald Curry. SRL's resume is just too thin for me to get excited. I expected more

Although i usually back Leonard (as i did earlier on this thread) i agree with this all the way^^^ it use too bug me when people gave Leonard credit for being a 5 division champ, how the hell are you gonna count your self king of 2 divisions in 1 fight? Hell Donny wasnt even the best LH back then,and wasnt even fighting at SM even though he drained himself to get down there.
