Both adapted their styles... That's what elite level boxers do. Had Keith decided to fight as he did in the 12th... Then Danny would have applied the pressure earlier. Thurman coming out the gate like he did in rd 1 forced Garcia to slow down his attack because Keith was cracking him.
I get what you mean and kinda agree, but Garcia is awful at applying pressure and is extremely susceptible to potshots because of his plodding feet.
I agree with this, but Thurman was throwing those wide telegraphed Haymakers the whole fight. I believe Thurman thought he could seriously take advantage of a flat footed fighter and get the knockout early. Maybe if Thurman would have finessed his boxing ability he could set up any fighter for a punch that they don't see coming.
Keith moved throughout the fight but he wasn't shy about throwing in combination because he knew he had to separate himself from Garcia. In the 12th I think he was playing it a bit safe.
Yes, Thurman made it harder on himself by trying to KO Garcia. I don't blame him though, this was the biggest stage of his career and he was trying to put on a show. Big props to Thurman!
It seems that way, but maybe Thurman wanted to establish his speed and power early, to make DSG hesitate, think twice what he's gonna do next, and respect Thurman's power.
I was going to turn this into a Mayweather hate thread, but I decided I can't be bothered The message being that there's no real finesse in 'hitting and not getting hit' if you are basing your strategy around leaving punching range for extended periods of time.
Keith definitely made DSG respect his power in that first rnd. He looked momentarily stunned by One Time. I knew a KO/TKO was not gonna happen, I was hoping for at least a knockdown . It didnt happen.
