You may want to consider the small detail of those fights being 12 years apart. ;)

Holyfield wouldn't have got him out of there 12 years ago either...

It's completely irrelevant to this discussion.

We're looking at a prime Mike Tyson vs Valuev.

Valuev would have just tried to have survived.

Yes and by a man who on that evening would have looked like Sugar Ray Robinson compared to Valuev.

A fighters prime has nothing to do with age. Your prime is when you achieve your best run of results, whilst fighting to your full capabilities. Mike slipped well before Douglas. The signs were there in the Bruno fight. He'd hardly trained for Douglas, and his personal life was a chaotic mess. Not that that was Douglas' fault though. But you can't be at your best, if you're not physically and mentally at 100%. Mike was a different fighter after Cus, Rooney, Jacobs and Cayton went. When King came on the scene, the days of studying hours of tapes were over, as in came the money, the women and the fame. Instead of sacrificing himself to be the best he could be, like when he first turned pro, he cut corners for the cheques and the party lifestyle. A sad waste of his talent.

Anyway, Douglas is irrelevant here, and this is my last post to you, because there's nothing left to say, and it's now just tedious typing out these posts.

Valuev wasn't a great fighter, and he was beat by fighters who weren't as good as Mike was in the mid 80's. You and the other fool have tried to bring up the size factor, yet Ruslan who was roughly the same size as Mike, got the job done.

Joe Louis also beat Primo. The moral of the story, is that exceptional smaller men can beat beat decent giants. Mike possessed all of the attributes needed to have beaten Valuev pretty easily.

Now if I were you, I'd actually go and watch Mike from 85-88, as well as some of Valev's fights, before making any further comments.
