Bellew didn't connect on Clev with the kind of shots that he's been starching guys with at CW... Certainly not in the 2nd fight. Clev did his best Malik Scott impression that night...

Gassiev seems to be a one paced fighter but he won't stop coming.
Kovalev actually stopped fighting and it wasn't Ward doing all the tying up it was Kovalev.

Gassiev's strength, power and chin is another level to Kovalev

Both equally as bad,Ward after round two needed to stay close to nullify his power and Kovalev was head locking him, rematch will be the same but from round one I expect which is why I'm not crazy about a rematch?

    Could Ward best Gassiev?

By the judging and refereeing standards he receives the guy could beat anyone.

Kovalev proved to be a lower IQ fighter than we all thought he was.

He didn't adjust and Ward did, I don't know why he persisted in tying Ward up but it was dumb

Gassiev is huge and Ward would get fatigued bad if he tried clinching him, Gassiev don't know how to clinch from what I have seen or atleast has no need to.

Gassiev's size might negate the speed advantage a bit as well

ROFL Gassiev would spark him out cold. Even Ward's judges and ref couldn't steal him a win in this one. Gassiev comes from the Caucasus, a region where there is a culture of fighting and boys are taught to wrestle before they learn how to walk. Those guys are as strong as hell. Gassiev would absolutely ragdoll Ward when he comes in trying to clinch and headbutt. He'd rip his arms off on the inside. Contrary to what that creep Virgil Hunter said, Ward wasn't physically stronger than Kovalev. If Ward thinks Kovalev is strong and hits hard, he'd be in for the shock of his life when he feels Gassiev's strength and power.

Yeah absolutely right, totally dumb,I think Ward got into his head there as he was trying to prove he was the stronger or something, meanwhile the round go flying by which is what Ward wants,I don't like it but it's that ring IQ from Ward to go to another plan that he talked about beforehand and Kovalev just fell into it instead of letting his hands go.

Beterbiev would tear Wards arms off, but the judges would still give armless Ward the victory.

If he makes it to the final bell, all bets are off. But I don't believe he makes it there.
Gassiev clearly hits even harder as Kovalev and doesn't take his foot of the pedal.
Ward at his natural (ok not entirely natural) weight class has proven to be very beatable, so 25lbs more and fighting a very strong opponent like Gassiev, who also has a style advantage over him, seems way too much to ask.

Ward isn't going to win the rematch with Kovalev either, who has already proven to be the better fighter of the two.

Did the powers that be see the light and change the Kovalev robbery? I know there must be a lot of Kov fans very happy that the Americans did the right and just thing and reversed such a terrible decision! Good for you guys putting the pressure on these corrupt bodies. YOU DID IT! THE NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!!! KOVALEV IS THE REAL WINNER!!!

Ward makes this fight look like easy work.
He'd do the same thing he did against Kovalev and have Gassiev trying to headlock him to stop the inside attack.
The Gassiev-Popeye fight was in Russia so both fighters were probably roid'ed up to the gills.
Against Ward, drug testing would be performed and very likely Gassiev would be exposed like Povetkin.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this,I suppose you saw the spots on Gassievs forehead, didn't look like acne put it that way.
