A in Shape Solis would be competing with Huck, Hernandez and Levedev.

    Hell no.

Solis is damn near a joke of a boxer. He just got beat by Tony Thompson... The infatuation this forum has always had with him is almost puzzling, if this forum didn't consistently overrate things like power, amateur career, nationality alone, and digging deep down the rankings to find someone with "potential" to knock off the top guys.

Aside from his KO1 loss to Vitali and decision loss to Thompson, all Solis has ever done in his career is barely beat Ray Austin and Leif Larsen. And a couple well known true journeyman. That shitty DQ win over Austin in a razor close horrible fight is the best thing he has ever done. That, my friends, is a joke (relative to how many of you fancy him).

What a peculiar thing to say because Wlad couldn't put a finger on Haye either.

Actually , Wald was almost knocked out in the 12th and had to hang on for dear life.
Haye never came close to being knocked out and left the ring with barely a scratch on him.

Wlad was out boxed by DaVaryl Willaimson.

In fact he was schooled by the Touch Of Sleep so badly he had to be pulled out:rofl

People see what they want to see.

Haye got touched here and there by the jab (although probably only at a 10% rate). But he undoubtedly got blasted by some right hands.

"Wlad was almost knocked out in the 12th," c'mon, you aren't fooling anyone. They can watch it themselves, if they want to watch the most disappointing HW fight ever.

    He was outboxed thrice...

Blew his wad and couldn't defend himself against Purrity.

Blasted out by Sanders early, couldn't exchange with or evade him.

Blew his wad and couldn't stand on his feet against Brewster.

That is being outboxed three times.

Generaz let Wlad hold on way to long in the 12th. It was a joke.

I didn't see Tyson needing to hold onto Spinks.

    Spinks>>Night&Day>>>>> Haye:rofl:oops:

Running out of gas does not equate to being outboxed....what an idiotic thing to say.

No, he would get humiliated early just like he was against Vitali.

Actually Solis was making a nice account of himself till injuring his knee. Doesnt mean i think he'd fare better with Wlad. Quite the contrary actually. Wlad is a much better fighter than his brother and would have controlled any version of Solis no matter how in shape. I had high hopes for Odlanier but he just never showed the desire or discipline in spite of having excellent talent. Hisbsituation reminds me of Buster Douglas before he put it all together one night in Tokyo. Skills and talent, but no fire in their bellies. No pun intended!

If you take an all encompassing view of boxing it does. As in one of the key components of the pro game is learning to conserve and marshal your resources so that you don't punch yourself out.

FWIW I agree with you, but I can also see the flip side of the argument.

No, because Solis doesn't have an high punch resistance, thus he wouldn't last long enough to win.

I also doubt he could outbox him enough to win an entire round, since Wlad has the better jab and is better at fighting from the outside.

Solis is really good on the inside, and maybe one of the best (his amateur fights are impressive), but he struggled bady against weak opposition, at pro.

He had to put up too much weight.
