Spence Crawford still does big numbers. IF it is next. And IF there is the right promotional push. Crawford needs to be realistic in terms of the split however.
Who cares about buys? All that matters is top guys fighting each other. Jake Paul's numbers are going to blow Crawford/Porter out of the water. That fight means nothing. It was a good scrap and the best guy won fair and square.
Olympic gold medalist, HW, 6'6'' with the body of Adonis, good looking, Great Britain not the US, and at least he makes an effort to put on a fake personality, whereas, Crawford is taciturn and monotone and makes zero effort in interviews or to try and sell himself. Not saying I have a problem with him being like that - it's who he is and that's perfectly fine - but it's not the same.
Canelo and Golovkin have multitudes more charisma than Crawford. And that's saying something. You seen Crawford's interviews before? Or his press conferences? Drier than stale toast
Yeah, and if he was more animated some fans would call him ghetto or a thug. See posts about the animated Teofemo. Nuff said.
Bob Arum will blame others, but it's HIS fault. Arum has done a poor job of promoting Terence Crawford, an elite fighter with top notch skills.
Hard to know if Bob is lying to PBC, the IRS, or himself. It might have been 50 buys, it might have been 5 million, but if he said it was 135k that's the one number I know it wasn't. Also if you ever see Crawford with an interviewer he's comfortable with he's normal, even funny. They should have his mother interview him in the future. She'll get a rise out of him.
Some would but I'm not alluding to being animated. I'm talking about making an effort to sell yourself and being more forthcoming and obliging in interviews. Personally I don't have a problem with him being the way he is. It's the performances in the ring which matter and he actually comes across a lot better when he isn't so reserved and guarded, as has Clenelo since he started giving interviews in English.
Might actually be true. Listening to Spence in the Pacquiao build up was mind numbingly bad. It’s all the promotion strategy. Also, Arum always inflates the number’s. They never come close to his projections, which I’m sure even he doesn’t believe.
