True. I think he could have stopped Postol if he had stood his ground. As it went I was bored to tears after 6.
Manny Pacquio was in his seventh weight class and his seventeenth title fight, had beaten Marquez and Barrera, before he fought Erik Morales for his first pay per view. Morales was the draw since he'd already had pay per views with Barrera, and the fight only did 350k. These guys who think they can just jump into a pay per view at the start of their careers are a joke.
Indifferent my a$$. If you were indifferent to GGG and ignorant to what those numbers are you would have never tried to point out to me that he "technically" did double what TC did. You are being hypocritical and should stop while you are ahead. Foreign PPV's are usually never considered in these published counts. US PPV is what is being compared, here. Anyone with a brain would know this...dumb, dumb. You need to do better than that. Both numbers 97k and 150k have been put out there. Neither is good. You are grasping for straws. [emoji1] Good lookin out Blizz. [emoji106] I already checkmated this cat. But, he just wants to play over and over and over and over.... Bored with him though. My main point (that neither of these fights should have been on PPV) is totally lost on dumb dumb. He just wants to keep talking about whose PPV flopped the least. Man, yer ****ing slow. You're the one that pointed out his 97K which I quoted. And its really not a big deal just pointed out that 97K is almost twice 50K to which you got butthurt.
You've got to remember the larger factors at play- these fights were going to happen on PPV, or they weren't going to happen at all. That's the ****py climate of high level boxing here now. In a perfect world, they'd have both been HBO championship fights and delivered great ratings there.
Idiot. You are still going on about these abysmal PPV numbers. They were both horrible. Get over it. You missed the real lesson, because you are just too thick to let it sink in. And you felt compelled to get off your couch and type up a response to defend your god Lil g. That's the only reason you responded and keep responding. FOH. I agree. And the point I made earlier is that HBO should have had the budget for these 2 fights, if any. PBC, IMO, would give all these guys maximum exposure and a higher salary. It's a train that may not last forever. But, while it does, more fighters need to hop on. Also, with PBC comes Showtime CBS as well. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Of course you can as well you should if you are HBO , once you realize TC isnt the star he think he is yet , you have your budget and you need to cut back , TC was chosen to be demoted , if TR thinks he is all that they can move elsewhere or go PPV , they went PPV and it busted , so now TC is either going to take less money next fight or he can try his luck elsewhere , thats how things work in show bussiness (or prize fighting if you like). Why are you acting like HBO owes him anything ? Floyd was special , despite his style which is hard to sell to casuals he made it to the #1 poistion in the sport , it wont be easy to go that route again for a boxer like TC unless he changes up his game , Postol fight was his breakout fight and he failed to deliver , played it safe and won (clearly no doubt) , but it wasnt the "OMFG , a new star has risen" kind of moment ....
US PPV numbers are the only ones published by HBO, AFAIK. 97k was the count initially released, the unofficial numbers, I guess. You are correct, 150 K was the final "official" count. However, it is not anything special. The OP wants to stress how an EE did better on PPV than an American guy. But, given the amount of hype HBO has given GGG compared to Crawford and the fact that Lemieux is much better known than Postol, and the promise of a KO, GGG didn't really do that much better than TC. If we want to be "technical" 150 is 3x greater than 50K. But, all things considered...both flopped miserably. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Completely agree. He is definitely is not better than Postol. But, most casuals wouldn't know that. He has a lot more KO's, though. And that's what tends to sell. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
