Conor Benn. Wrong division and such a poor performance IMO. Throws a max effort KO punch every ten seconds, took so many shots tonight. His defence is non existent. He gets slaughtered at Welterweight domestically. Gavin, Eggington, Skeete, Singleton would all tear him apart.
Connor Benn took plenty of clean shots there. Needs to sort that out because when he actually uses his head he's slick in defence. Think on that performance he'll get kod when he steps up if he carries on. Probably just too eager to impress because he's young. I knew Arnfield would be in with a shot there as I was impressed with him vs Blackwell. Didn't really watch the fight properly so can't discuss the controversial scoring. Really nice to hear Paulie telling it like it is. They better have him back after this, it's great to see honesty in british commentary... for a change. Edit: I should credit Froch too for acknowledging the referee's bias.
It's felt like 15 minutes has passed and we're in round 10, good fight. Linares ahead by 3 rounds for me.
Fair play, despite the ref's bad form, all 3 commentators have realistic scores. If Crolla can't stop him in the 12th, he's lost.
Decent scores, despite the disparity... if you were going to do favours, it was in Linares favour. He earned that victory, good fight. Linares reminds me of Khan, capable of greatness but very vunerable. I'm glad he won. Crolla aquitted himself very well, good fight.
I had Linares winning at least 8 rounds, scorecards bar one were far too close imo. Linares took a bit of a breather at times in round 7 for example when he just tucked up and blocked a lot of shots, didn't throw much back but didn't think he looked too tired like other people. Ref was ridiculous, bit disappointed Crolla complained about some legit shots, one might of been low but the ref warning Linares definitely changed the dynamic for a few rounds when it shouldn't of. Crolla's shots after 8 had little weight on them, Linares never looked troubled by the power from then. Bit surprised people thought it was close, scoring in General forum was ridiculous. Good fight though.
