Yeah I know what you mean but who brought more to the attaction of DeGale vs Groves? If DeGale was just another humble kid would it have sold?

    Nope.

DeGale and his team let their egos run wild and talked it up into the grudge it was. Pantomime villains or not, they should not be surprised that the image they created is the one they have to live with. The public only know what they see and hear, and they were doing the talking.

They should also have been smart enough to figure out that it doesnt work in your favour with the judges when everything you do is ignored by the crowd, and everything your opponent does is cheered.

You would think they were new at this wouldnt you?

Eubank could get away with having a huge amount of followers coming out to see him lose, because..............................he kept winning. :rofl

Hayemaker should get him back at the O2 a couple of times, with a solid undercard. It would be a expensive investment, but Groves has got that Hatton type likeability about him and he's fun to watch (Imo). He could be very big, but still early days.

Yeah man, De Gale can hardly complain if he's victim of a perception he's helped cultivate.

Its like arguing the ref cause your disgruntled at a decision, your aren't gonna do yourself any favours with the ref by making an enemy out of him.

I dont care how impartial your supposed to be, you cant help but think that, subconsciously, without even realizing it, that some of those judges might of been giving Groves the benefit of the doubt in some of those swing rounds.

Degale should not try and change his public image its too far gone. He wil lnever be able to get the British fight crowd on his side.

However I think he is in the prefect position to play that guy that everybody loves to hate the Eubank the one that people will tune in to watch lose. That his best hope imo.

Groves' post fight interview was class. He gave DeGale respect and genuinely seemed chuffed to bits and surprised at the amount of support he got. After all the animosity before the fight, he could have taken the **** a bit but he showed real class. I have always liked him but that definitely won me over.

I just can't see DeGale calling Groves a 'tremendous fighter' if he had got the verdict.
