Well, looks that he had been given to Tabiti as undefeated prospect. He definitely isn't a bum but also not top 15 level for CW division after he had Tabiti in the ring. No offense there. After fight vs him Tabiti turned into WBSS semi finalist and legit challenger for IBF World Title vs Dorticos. Tabiti vs Dorticos was not less exciting fight than Glowacki vs Briedis in this event.
Vial has a very inspiring story behind. He beat cancer in 2008 at 15 or 16 years of age i think and started boxing afterwards. He had like 30 amateur fights on the regional scene (very low level) in West Germany but had to retire early because of the long-term-consequences of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He won some regional titles. After a couple of years he came back and started his pro career. I think he also works as a fitness coach and boxing coach for young kids at school. He also is doing a lot of stuff for children homes. He seems like a very cool and nice guy and deserves massive respect anyway. I hope he'll make the best out of his career but i guess skill-wise it'll be tough for him to compete on a certain level. I don't rate Gashi but i expect him to win this comfortably. Most likely by KO. But my heart roots for Vial for sure. He has a decent jab imo and tries to box technically. I just hope he does well and get a few more good fights in the future. I'd rather see a guy like him cashing and getting good fights than guys like Schwarz or Wallisch.
Got to respect this guy for a small-ish heavyweight that's tough to beat. Mike Mollo was similar ... not someone any HW can take lightly. With his history of going the distance against solid 2nd tier HWs he'd be great for Makhmudov if the right money was there.
