I don't want to see anyone outside of Usyk, Parker, Dubois and Kabayel in a heavyweight title fight. You are right, there is a big big drop off after these guys.

 

Tomorrow is the deadline the IBF set for Dubois vs Chisora. Today is the last day for the Usyk fight to be finalized and announced.

I think it'll be out of Marko Milun, Lazizbek Mullojonov and Tsotne Rogava who wins at heavyweight. & Devon Young might be a dark horse.

 

I hope they mandate Dubois to fight Chisora, so we can see Usyk-Parker or Usyk-Kabayel, both of which are more interesting fights.

 

Mullojonov is the favourite for now.

 

Jean Pascal vs Michal Cieslak on June 28th for the WBC Interim Cruiserweight title. Peralta is out, Pascal is in. Thoughts?

 

At this point, should we even be surprised at how sanctioning bodies decide who gets a title shot? Cieslak should win, but Pascal can always land a haymaker and win.

The only reason they concocted this mini-tournament for the interim belt, I guess, is to have the full champion go for undisputed. Which isn't bad, but they are only doing it, because they want to get that Saudi sanctioning money.

Lerena defends the title next week. His mandatory will be either a Alan Babic victim or a very shot cruiserweight. Bridgerweight keeps on delivering!

 

As a whole with Pascal and Wlodarczyk, seems like the WBC is having nostalgia for the late 2000's/early 2010's. To have these guys keep getting these shots.

tbf one would have to go back a lot further in time for Wlod being a relevant/capable operator than they would for Pascal.

I know I am going to be hated, hated, hated, for this, but after Usyk has his two more at heavy, he should lift the cruiser belt from Lerena. He can have credible, entertaining fights against Beterbiev, Badou Jack, and Wilder at that weight, and even have his performative match against Pereira.

I think what is really going to happen is he is going to fight the Doubts rematch, Pereira at heavy, and then have some MMA fights, starting with Jake Paul (it's being discussed). I think my plan is better.

 

I am 66 years old and am in better shape than Mendoza. Some of these fights are pathetic.
