World Boxing Association (WBA) has taken the decision to deprive the Cuban Luis Ortiz title "interim" champion, WBA heavyweight champion.

The WBA explained their decision by saying that Ortiz did not first defense of his title against mandatory challenger Alexander Ustinov, authorized at the beginning of the year.

Former world champion manager heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko Bernd Boente said WBA decision on the possible sanctioning of the fight against Vladimir champion, IBF World Briton Anthony Joshua:
