The third time World of Boxing is trying to make it, but I'm positive about the outcome of the talks. The first time they tried to make a rematch straight after the loss to Durodola then they tried to make it before they made the fight with Dos Santos.
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) for a year has excluded from the rating of the Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin after the decision of the World boxing council (WBC) about removal of the sportsman. This is reported by TASS. Previously, WBC indefinitely suspended Povetkin and fined the athlete for 250 thousand dollars. For a repeated violation of anti-doping rules. The Russian boxer will be able to hold fights under the aegis of the organisation only a year later. Also in January, a jury in New York's federal court admitted that Povetkin had taken meldonys for a prohibited period. "Povetkin is excluded from our ratings for a year, this decision is based on the earlier suspension in connection with the violation of the anti-doping rules," the source said. http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18945-povetkina-iskljuchili-iz-rejtinga-ibf-srokom-na-odin-god
Wladimir Klitschko is "the dinosaur of his generation" and can prove it by beating Anthony Joshua, his trainer says. Klitschko will be 41 by the time he takes on Joshua for the IBF and WBA Super heavyweight titles at Wembley Stadium on April 29, live on Sky Sports Box Office. The Ukrainian has gone back to his Kiev roots to prepare for his first fight as a challenger since 2006 and told Sky Sports News HQ on Monday he is "obsessed" with becoming the three-time champion. And, according to Johnathon Banks, Klitschko has the character to join an elite band of fighters who competed at world level well into their 40s. "Put it like this," Banks told SSNHQ. "Wladimir is obsessed with his goal to become a rare-breed three-time heavyweight champion. "Every blue moon we have a dinosaur that enters each division. The last was Bernard Hopkins. Guys his age can't go three rounds, never mind doing six or seven-week camps. "The last dinosaur in the heavyweight division was George Foreman, who won a world title at 45. I believe Wladimir is the dinosaur of this generation." Banks believes "activity and consistency" are the key to defeating Joshua after Klitschko struggled to land a meaningful punch on Fury. The two fighters have the history in the ring having sparred together in the past, and Klitschko's trainer said: "It was very competitive. Tit-for-tat." http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18948-vladimir-klichko-dinozavr-etogo-pokolenija-dzhonaton-benks
Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) asked the fans on his official twitter page would they like to see him fighting WBC world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) this summer in Liverpool. "How many of u would like to see @TonyBellew vs the Furious1 @Everton this summer? #THEHAYESLAYER VS #GYPSYKING" - tweeted Tyson Fury. http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18942-tajson-fjuri-hochet-dratsja-s-toni-bellju-letom-v-liverpule
Defeat will taste sweeter for David Haye knowing he will pocket £1.4million MORE than Tony Bellew after their heavyweight bout, The Sun reports. The 36-year-old was left devastated after his corner were forced to throw in the towel in the 11th round after suffering a serious Achilles injury. But Haye, whose career has been left in tatters, will earn a total of £4.2m (roughly $5.2m) from the fight whilst Bellew picked up his biggest payday of his career collecting £2.8m. Foreign TV rights, ticket sales of around £2.5m and pay-per-view sales thought to be around 600,000 viewers added to the £7m purse share. The figure is way off Haye’s biggest payday when he earned over £10m following his defeat by Ukrainian giant Wladmir Klitschko. http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18934-utochnenie-gonorar-devida-heja-prevysil-51-milliona-dollarov
Became known the score on the official cards of the judges at the time of the stoppage of the fight David Haye - Tony Bell, who ended with Bellew's victory by technical knockout in the 11th round. So, after 10 rounds on the cards of all the judges, Tony Bellew was leading with a score of 96:93 (or 6: 4 for rounds plus knockdown). It should be noted that until the Achilles tendon injury was received in the sixth round on the cards of the judges, David Haye was confidently leading - he led with a score of 49:46, or 4: 1 in rounds. http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18...oja-devid-hej-proigryval-na-vseh-kartah-sudej
WBA #3 ranked heavyweight Alexander Ustinov (33-1, 24 KOs) might be facing former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) in the Fury’s first comeback fight which is tentatively scheduled on May 13. Ustinov’s manager Vladimir Hryunov revealed today to Russian media that he already started the talks with team Fury about this fight. Considering the fact that Ustinov is co-promoted by Frank Warren, who also co-promotes Tyson Fury along with Mick Hennessy, the possibility of this fight looks pretty big. http://boxingnews.com.ua/en/news/18944-tajson-fjuri-srazitsja-s-aleksandrom-ustinovym
As long as his durability is still there.. I strongly favor him. Teper can't box, at all. His style was almost 100% reliant on power which just hasn't been there since he got popped and his stamina has been **** as well. Go back a couple of years and he struggled horribly with the likes of Oloukun, Musafarov and probably should have lost those fights, even roided he was lucky to have gotten the nod against Duhaupas. All Wach has to do is pop out a jab, the occasional right hand and remain standing after 12 rounds, that should be enough for him to win against Teper
Haven't watched Rossy/Teper in full yet, but I probably should. referee: Frank Michael Maass 96-94 judges: Manfred Kuechler 98-92, Timo Habighorst 97-93 That's well within the realm of robbery territory, especially in Germany. But Rossy probably did just enough to lose with his negative style where he often gives away rounds that should have been his. Sort of worried about Wach getting robbed. But Tepers stock is pretty low right now, so the incentive probably wont be there to rob Wach(hopefully)
Did you see Wach/Nascimento? It almost looked like he was having a hard time throwing a power punch, and he had no movement. I think the second brutal 12 round beating took away the little skill he had. I'd say Teper from the Hammer fight would get the better of the action in close quarters against the Wach from the Nascimento fight.
Maybe. Or he just wasn't very motivated and had a poor showing, That coupled with Nascimento sometimes showing up and giving a good performance against fringe contenders and prospects is just as likely. Nascimento can also box a little from the backfoot unlike Teper, which is going to trouble someone as crude as Wach(especially if he's not motivated) Is this a 12 rounder? Can't see Teper walking Wach down and imposing his will for that long, the problems Nascimento caused him probably won't be a factor either.
I actually think there's a case for Haye being even at that point. Gave Haye rd 9 and a few of the others after the injury were fairly close, actually thought Haye was winning the 11th prior to being knocked through the ropes lol.
