Both Ruslan Chobano and Ivan Veryasov looks impressive. Semifinals: In the semi's Maxim Babanin will fight against Ivan Veryasov. In the other semifinal, Ruslan Chobanov will fight Magomed Omarov. Magomed Omarov beat Chobanov in a close fight. 2 round was the best round for Chobanov, he was outworking Omarov in that round. But Omarov found his range with a jab and won because of his jab and power punches. In the other semifinal, Maxim Babanin clearly outworked Veryasov. Babanin was land at will in this fight and his work rate looked impressive as well. Final: Omarov will face Babanin in the final. Interesting match up. I have to give an edge to Babanin because of his power and work rate. Babanin has two wins in two previous fights against Omarov. P.S. Pavel Doroshilov is continuing his career in the amateurs. Because of lack of fights, he moved back to amateurs. Also, Ruslan Shalamov is continuing his career in amateurs as well.Shamalov lost to young Arias in the pro ranks a few months ago. Statistics: The current amateur record of Ruslan Shamalov is 83 fights,75 wins and 8 loses. The current amateur record of Magomed Omarov is 300 fights with 250 wins. Heavyweight division: Sadam Magomedov is through the final with an impressive showing in the semi-final. Ilya Kvasnikov showed great diversity in his offensive skills in his semi-final to advance to the final. Magomedov looks like a favourite for the final. His work rate is impressive and he packs punch, besides his chin, is pure iron.
Heavyweights: Burak Sahin/Andre Bunga UD over six rounds Tyrone Spong beat Sergio Ramirez and earned WBC Latino title. Martin Bakole Ilunga/Kamil Sokolowski UD.Martin Bakole Ilunga will be back on 11 Nowember. Spong's moving along pretty well... Probably time for a slight step up soon, he's no spring chicken. Sokolowski is the "hip" HW journeyman now lol.... Tough opperator who's capable of springing an upset on a good night. Is the fight online? Still haven't seen the Turner fight. Illunga is a good prospect from what I've seen/heard. Arslan has been busy this year! 3 fights - give the old man another shot at big time! at 47 he deserves one more big fight - one of the most underrated fighters today, easily one of the greatest older fighters of all time - alongside Moore, Foreman and of course Hopkins.
I agree. Good crossroads match. Too bad Shumenov isn't the WBA - regular champion anymore. Arslan would have old manned him ALA Hopkins....
5-2 Tai Tuivasa who has wins over Willie Nasio and has last the distance against Demsey McKean and Michael Kirby has built a 7-0(7 KO) MMA record and has signed a contract to the UFC. a lot of these young, power albeit crude heavies would probably have better luck in the MMA world. I'd advise Nasio to do the same.
He defended the WBA(super) title against Mark Flanagan in July. Looked to have lost a step, but dominated the fight.
