This was a good performance by Dubois, he stayed composed and disciplined. The only flaw in Dubois' game plan for me was that he wasn't active against Little when they fought in the center of the ring.
Here's what I don't understand. Well I do, but let me make my point. Hrgovic stops an up for the fight Tom Little in 4 rounds. Dubois stops him in five. No one on the web questions Dubois power, but some question Hrgovic's?
Well i thought this was a good performance by Dubois, since i'm still not 100% sold on him. When it comes to your boy Hrgovic his power is legit, but has to sit on his punches more.
Hrgovic didn't look great against Little and he still managed to stop him 2 rounds sooner when he was in better shape.
I think people question Hrgovic's power more because he failed to stop Turner over 8. I suppose it's a valid criticism but you have to consider fighters usually struggle to land clean punches at full power on opponents over half a foot shorter than them, and it's especially difficult for someone like Hrgovic who stands so tall and is mostly a straight puncher. It's maybe a stylistic vulnerability but I don't think it says anything about his raw power. He's got like 12 WSB knockouts and he utterly ended Little with one punch.
Hrgovic has had some counter issues since his AM days. I checked on my opinion before going pro and my notes say defense needs some work. He can pull his jab back a bit quicker, but I have noticed his footwork and speed has improved a bit. So he's not a stationary type of target when he wants to box and move. HOWEVER, in his case since he has a good chin, activity and aggression is okay, even if he's countered every not an then. He has yet to lose one round as pro, and is being moved quickly. I agree with your comment, with the exception of he showed some critical things needed for any pro prospect.
Trey Lippe Morrison should be ready to step up again by 2019, but sooner or later, his people need to roll the dice on him. He has Roach as a trainer. Has there been improvement?
Yeah, he's an all or none gunslinger, but so was his father in many respects. I don't think his chin is quite as bad as his fathers by the way, but by no means would I say its good either.
As I remember though, that draw was kind of pitiful and partially derailed his career. Nice to see they are finally getting him useful fights.
I noticed this. Mo Harris hasn't fought in a couple of years and is well past it. But still probably a decent enough opponent as long as Dychko fights again not too long afterwards.
