”Epic Sports won the purse bid a few days ago for over $2M, which would give Miller 25% (around $540k, a career high),” Dan Rafael said to ESPN.com. ”But they want to put the fight in Bulgaria and Miller’s people told me they won’t go there. They would more consider the fight if it was in the U.S.” ”HBO has turned it down from what Miller co-promoter Greg Cohen said but Top Rank has interest in putting it on ESPN,” Rafael said. ”So until that is sorted out it’s unclear if it will happen. If it does the winner is the IBF mandatory but likely wouldn’t get the shot for around 18 months.”
Well, if Hughie Fury won't take the fight with Pulev than Kabayel, Wallin, Teper are next in line. Shwarz and Dinu are possible choices if prevoius fighters, I mentioned turns down the fight with Pulev. Fight with Dinu would sell. At this point it's clear that this won't be a final eliminator, more like semi eliminator.
Kabayel have EBU duties up next. Wallin is injured. Shwarz won't take it because of his unwillingness to face live oppoents. But Dinu might face Pulev.
After all of these years spinning his wheels, I just can't see Dinu in a big fight. Something will screw it up. That being said, it would be nice if he finally got a shot.
I'm not sure if Trey Lippe Morrison outside of a puncher chance is good enough to win a decision vs a good boxer, but count me in as one who wants to find out. Great story here.
Sirenko fought at the weekend - another impressive 1st round KO. Very bad refereering though to let his opponent who was clearly done continue.. This content is protected
Cruiserweight Alexey Papin got yet another solid victory but it wasn’t an easy one. Fighting at the core of one of the Russia’s most luxurious villages at the venue, properly named Floyd Mayweather Boxing Academy, former kickboxing champion Papin withstood mild adversity and somewhat awkward tactics of Namibian Willbeforce Shihepo (25-10, 18 KOs) en route to the eighth-round TKO. Papin dropped Shihepo hard at the end of the first but, the Namibian then get back to clinching, clowning, playing possum and some basic dirty tricks in order to survive the onslaught. In round six, a huge cut opened over Papin’s left eye. Yet he dropped Shihepo twice more in the seventh, and again in the eighth, forcing a stoppage win. Shihepo was also deducted a point in round seven for an excessive spitting of his mouthpiece. A reward for Papin was a vacant IBF International cruiserweight title. The 30-year old Russian, who has scored a frightening kayo of once-touted Ismayl Sillah in his penultimate fight, is now 10-0, 9 KOs
