Boxing could still be axed from the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo after the IOC admitted Thursday that concerns remain over the sport's governance and management by the International Boxing Federation (AIBA). "The IOC Executive Board received a report on the AIBA situation and highlighted its significant ongoing concern with a number of key areas... that require further information and confirmation," said an IOC statement. These areas involved "governance, ethical and financial management".
I hate to say it, but I would be damned glad. I am sick and tired of... A. Olympic screwjobs creating easy professional paths for guys who don't deserve it (Joshua, Wilder, now Yoko). B. Good fighters wasting their lives on the Olympics only to get screwed (Camarelle, Medzhidov).
Medzhidov was offered pro contract numerous times and so Camerenele was, they just didn't want to turn pro and are not expected to turn pro. Those huge talents, who are in amateurs right now don't exclude turning pro and don't theorize and do nothing afterwards like the first two I mentioned but has said that will turn pro sooner or later.
Usyk won't move to heavyweight as soon as WBBS say that they need to clarification about Usyk's belts, lol. Only Bellew fight might persuade him to turn pro and he has said that will be for one fight only, so I guees the repeat of cruiserweight WBSS tournament is out of the window.
Great fight! I was hoping for Miller to take on Kabayel but he obviously wants least path resistance aka Szpilka or Adamek.
Zhilei Zhang ko'd Eugen Buchmueller. Alexey Egorov beat Lateef Kayode by TKO 6. Fanlong Meng won by 1st round TKO. Darmani Rock beat Marquis Valentine by UD.

I don't understand why promoters are blamed for boxers not willing turning pro. Medzhidov, Camarenele, Omarov and multiple others were offered pro contracts on more than one occasion but turned them down. They basically waste their careers by not turning pro. But on the better not they might be forced to go pro at least Omarov because of possible boxing as a sport exclusion from upcoming Olympic games.
