Cruiserweight Super 6 Entrants: UPDATE WITH SCHEDULE

During the Polish broadcast for Wlodarczyk vs Robinson, the broadcasters presented what will seemingly be a potential schedule for the first stage of proposed "Super Six" analogue among the cruiserweights. IBF champion Steve Cunningham (23-2, 12 KOs) will put his title at risk against hard-hitting Russian bomber Denis Lebedev (22-0, 17 KOs), while WBO master Marko Huck (30-1, 23 KOs) collides with French WBA interim beltholder Steve Herelius (20-1-1, 12 KOs) in a partial unification of the titles; both contests to be held in December. In January 2011, WBC champion Wlodarczyk will take on Yoan Pablo Hernandez (22-1, 11 KOs) in the third and last fight of the first stage. This schedule is surely a preliminary one.

 

Only missing WBA champ; maybe instead of Hernandez/Lebedev or Frenkel would ensure an complete undisputed champ. Althought I'm not that worried Jones isn't good enough to look like Bute to SMW super 6 i.e. a massive omission. Other than that pretty darn good; hopefully they learn from SMW S6's mistakes - too long/fights on same card or night etc

There's some potentially very good fights in there, Lebedev v Huck has FOTY candidate written all over it. Cunningham is the best boxer of the lot but has suffered from lack of activity and didn't look great in his last fight. I like Lebedev to win it outright, I think he's the real deal.

 

Big shout as he has no title and his biggest win is against a seemingly 'shot' Enzo

 

The way he crushed Alexeev was very impressive IMO

His blowout of Alexeev was mightily impressive as well. Belts don't really count for **** anyway, look at the 168lbs tournament, Ward didn't have a title and his best win was over Miranda yet he's shown he belongs there and is the rightful favourite now.

 

For me it is Cunningham or Huck. If it is over a short period of time that favours Cunningham anything else longer term the younger Huck takes it. Lebedev as an outside shot for me; hasn't proved it with the real top dogs yet although he may prove me wrong

 

Cunningham for me but I guess he'll be up against it if most of the fights are going to take place in Europe.

You're not following the division very closely if you think the Maccarinelli win was bigger than the Alexeev one. :blood

 

Huck's ****ing shite give over. He won't beat Lebedev in a billion years. He throws a 5 punch combination and then rests. His stamina is awful late in a fight and he can be hurt as Afolabi and Cunningham have show. Lebedev would be far too solid and relentless for him to deal with.

Cunningham/Lebedev are clear favourites to me. That would be a close fight.

 

Cunningham and Lebedev would be the early favorites for me too. Don't see the point in having Hernandez hasn't he been on the end of a few gifts in Germany? Huck is exactly like TFFP has said entertaining for 5 minutes of his fights a complete eye sore for the rest.

Dark horse I think would be the Polish guy Wlodaczyk. If he can avoid Cunningham he has a decent chance, think he would out tough Huck probably get beaten by Lebedeev but it's boxing and you never know.

Not a fan of these super 6 things but if it's on i'll watch it.

 

Unlike the SMW Super 6, this ones not looking that appealing to me I'm afraid.

It will be interesting to see how Lebedev develops, Cunningham can be OK to watch... but...

 

It's a nice lineup and all, I just don't give a ****. I don't believe I've ever given a **** about the Cruiserweight Division, it's just dull.
