Wrong move. He is losing his shot at a legacy. He'll never be remembered for being anything in hollywood but in mma he could be a legend.

I agree. I guess he's making better money in movies - and wants to transition into filmmaking after his fighting career. Too bad he's leaving his fighting career just as he's in position to carve a legacy.

I doubt he cares. His was only a brief flirt with the sport to see what he could achieve.

How disappointing. He he has so many pretty records outside of MMA and 6 fights, 6 wins, 6 ko's and the championship then people talked about him as the only real rival for Silva and he left.

IF he wants to throw his legacy away, a genuine place in history, then **** it.

It's sad for Strikeforce cos Cung Le along with Mousasi and Fedor as champs were legitimate opposition to UFC's roster.

He has no ground game, it seems the wise choice to become a movie star.

    Thanks for the link.

Yeah, i agree, it's a real shame, i was hoping to see Cung defend against Shields as well. :-(

Hopefully this isn't the end for Cung and he gets the winner?, who knows?.

Very happy to see Jake get his shot at the title, cool guy, excellent fighter, same in regards to Mayhem.

Should be a very good fight, looking forward to this. :D

Well this frees Cung to come back and have a warm up fight instead of jumping right in with these active young tough fighters. Shields can beat Miller, defend it a few times until Cung comes back, has a warm up and then they can fight for the title.

Martial artists have been trying to cross over into film since the beginning of the twentieth century. No doubt the pay is better and it's much less damaging.

    Sounds good.

How do you see a potential fight between Cung - Shields going?

Hmm. . .That is a hard one to call because they train together. I'm curious to hear stories about their training - you know - who did what to whom. If Shields can't secure a takedown on Le - he will get kicked to death. If Jake can get him down - he should be able to destroy Le and lock in the submission of his choice.

People always state that Le doesn't have a ground game - but they forget that he is a hell of a wrestler. His throws are phenomenal and his base is solid as a rock. Anyone trying to submit him has to first get through his formidable wrestling skills.

How many athletes become succesful actors? How many of those are fighters? He actually found a less stable career than MMA.

As for the fight, Mayhem is a bit over his head; shields is a killer. Mayhem always does get good breaks in terms of signing fights though, and usually performs well enough to lose with dignity. Except the Trigg fight, one of my all time favorites.
