No, if he loses, he loses. What wars? I see that the excuses will pop up very soon when Margarito loses to Cotto. Now, everyone and their cat said this is the ultimate fight besides Cotto vs PBF. I really don't want to hear "oh, Margarito was past his prime and shot". Please give both of them credit and respect for their abilities.

Santos showed us what? That he can come in at 170 pounds and win a controversial decision due to a clash of heads in his hometown??? AND Mosley isn't an awkward 6'0" southpaw that comes in at 170.

SSM had good wins over a prime DLH, but Margarito fights nothing like DLH. Margarito brings relentless pressure. AND Vargas, he was so Shot............

If Margarito was so easy to hit with "overhands," then why did SSM, PBF and Winky all turn him down???

Cotto had the balls to fight him (as did Williams, who barely scraped by with a controversial ecision), so props to both fighters. Margarito will stop Cotto, sorry to say to all the Boricuas, cause I like Cotto too, but he is going down.

The winner of this fight is the man at welterweight and junior middleweight too.

winky did not turn margo down- it was the other way around and winky would DESTROY margo whose main asset is that he's a really big welterwieght who is also rough and with a good beard and stamina. I don't know why everyone acts like margo is this fearsome force-he has lost FIVE TIMES, he was getting beaten soundly by Clottey before clottey broke at least one hand and clottey is not exactly world class, he lost to williams who got rocked numerous times in his next fight....Margo is solid tough fighter who anyone would need to take seriously at WW but he is no better than that. And if he went up to 154 to fight winky (who almost beat B-hop at 170) he would get KTFO inside of 7 rounds.

Would have to go with Shane by UD. 200 Shane would be tough for anyone today to beat. IF they even could. Laugh at the knee jerk reactionaries who pick a one sided beating though...

On paper, Shane should win by UD.
But you can't draw up a K.O. (Margarito)

Don't have to apologize. It does not matter if I am Puerto Rican or not. I mentioned Santos due to easily hitting Margarito with overhands throughout the fight. We all know about the accidental headbutt for both fights. Williams scraped by Margarito, but which Williams showed up; Quintana 1 or 2? It does not matter what race Cotto is. It is how good of a fighter he is, but I won't be a hypicrite, I love the fact that there is another PR champ. Your right, props to both fighters and may the better man (Cotto) win. :yep It is going to be an entertaining fight no matter who wins.

I don't know or ever heard of Lozoya, Sobranes. Santos is not a hard hitting WW or JM. Clottey was fighting with hurt hand. Cintron fights like that cartoon movie, giant robot. So your saying these fighters you mentioned would beat Cotto? Nah, Margarito will be saved buy his corner.
