1. Pacquiao- No need to explain. 2. Mayweather- No need to explain. 3. Mosley- Resume speaks for itself, recently dominated Margarito has helped him though his inactivity though. 4. Marquez- Resume speaks for itself, losing to Mayweather doesn't hurt him too much because he had a 1% chance of winning. 5. Hopkins- Resume speaks for itself, but inactivity (and not fighting anybody, but Ornelas) has dropped him a couple of spots on my P4P list. 6. Williams- Good resume at 147, nothing much at 154, but two quality opponents at 160 help jump Dawson. 7. Dawson- Dawson is the man at 175 and he just keeps winning. 8. John- John is the man at 126 and he just keeps winning. He has Gamboa, Lopez, and Escalante on the horizon and could make a huge leap up everybody's rankings with a win over one of those three. 9. Bradley- Bradley is quite possibly the best at 140 now, and with a stacked division he could eventually become the P4P king in the next few years. 10. Adamek- Adamek was good at 175, the best at Cruiserweight, and is now making his mark at Heavyweight. With all that said that's why he jumps into the top 10 leaving Froch, Ward, Donaire, Darchinyan, Wlad, etc. out in the cold.
Haye was a better Cruiserweight and has fought the better competition at Heavyweight and is a belt holder. Wlad is a multiple belt champion and has been KO-ing better competition than Adamek has(Samuel Peter when Peter was top 5, Ruslan Chargaev, Sultan Ibragimov, Calvin Brock, Lamon Brewster, etc.), Vitali is also a belt holder and has beaten the better competition. So how do you rank Adamek ahead of David Haye and the Klitschko bros.?
1. FMJ 2. PAC 3. Wlad 4. Vitaly 5. Dawson 6. Marquez (he would be higher, but he lost to FMJ) 7. Hopkins (he has been inactive and hasn't fought good p4p fighters after Pavlik) 8. Abraham (after Taylor, he became in the top 10) 9. Bute 10. Chris John I have Williams not in the top 10 because I think he lost to Martinez. I think Valero and Gamboa will be entering the top 10 in the next 2 fights.
I think Donaire belongs in there. But at least somebody has enough sense to mention Montiel, who hasn't been outside of the top 20 pound for pound in about ten years. Hell, I'm even going to throw Valero's name into the mix. I know people are going to whine. Too bad. Whine.
And??? My point was that he doesnt belong at the top of the p4p lists, and he doesnt. Youve actually given me several pointers in this idioyic post as to why he never did. You love boxing, well thanks for sharing that. I thought we all did, thats why we post here. Now jog on!!
He still beat him at his own game, pretty much, which is a great feat. That is very possible, but assumptions and beliefs about future fights doesn't determine rankings.
Thats not what Im basing it on. Im basing it on the fact with the exception of the Margarito performance, which was good, but also a good style match up, then its been a long time since Mosely looked good.
Haye has fought the better competition at heavyweight so far, but it's not like Arreola and Valuev are that far off from each other, PLUS Adamek probably fought the better competition at cruiserweight (or it's pretty damn close; Bell=Mormeck, Cunningham >>> Maccaranelli, Banks < Fragomeni), PLUS he won aq title at LHW and was a tiny cruiserweight to begin with. Haye is naturally about 20 - 25 pounds bigger than Adamek, which matters for something on a P4P list. Personally I have Adamek about 5 spots ahead of Haye. I have Wlad ahead of both of them, but I can understand why someone wouldn't want to rank a 245 pound fighter who's almost always bigger than his opponents on a pound for pound list.
Yes, but his ranking should improve due to the win against a top opponent, not counting in whether it was a good stylistic matchup for him.
and im not saying his ranking shouldnt improve, but not into the top3. Lets see where people rank him after the schooling he gonna recieve in a few weeks.
1. Pac 2. Mosley 3. PBF 4. Marquez 5. Wlad K 6. Dawson 7. Calderon 8. Adamek/Abraham 9. Valero 10. John
With the fighters he is competing against, i can easily see him as #3. If he does lose, he will ofcourse drop.
