This performance seals the deal for the monumental failure of the CS "experiment". Hopefully the get rid of Dan Cambell too.
He'll be gone. They need to bring on new coaches, hopefully a Cuban or Russian; and change the residency and international experience programs. This is going to be bad for USA Boxing, I imagine a funding cut will be in order.
Does anybody know what British boxers are left? I cant find ****, been in Ibiza the past week and havent seen ****.
go start a thread in the British section, they seem to have a lot of threads there about the UK team.
We still have one medal, at the very least; from Deontay Wilder. Could be worse...not much, but I suppose it could be.
Actually, they should rename the country USA 107, because that would represent the amount of boxing medals Americans have won in the Olympics. Oh yeah, by your logic, the UK should be renamed UK 45. DAMN, Pugilist, that's not even HALF of our total. Hurts to come up short doesn't it?
I respect the UK and all their great fighters, as well as fans like you who just came on asking for results, which I will provide you in a second. I don't respect chump fans like "Pugilist" who come onto an American boxing thread where no one is talking about national supremacy and start spouting off garbage.
And to answer some people's question, since Wilder is the last American standing, how bad is this team compared with past disappointments? 1) If Wilder wins This content is protected , it will be the Americans' worst showing since 1948. 2) If Wilder wins This content is protected or This content is protected , it will be the Americans' worst showing since 1908.
They had all the potential to be the best since 1988. But like Dan Campbell said; he also doesn't understand the judging. They've been almost systematically removing Russian and Americans from the tournament.
After Andrade stormed out of the ring (disgraceful sportsmanship), Campbell told Jim Gray that Andrade was basically justified in leaving before the announcement of the decision because of what he perceived to be "controversial" scoring. He also passed over a multitude of excuses why the team failed (conveniently omitting himself as a reason).
Well Kolya, which decisions do you think in particular shafted American and/or Russian fighters? If anything, I thought the Chinese boxers, especially Zou Shiming, are getting gifts.
