I just don't get why it has to be in Belfast? He was lucky to be in Belfast when he fought Prescott because if that fight was anywhere else then he would have lossed.

Plus he fought Khan in Manchester, if he wants a world title fight, or to a fight s big name, he should go to them not the other way round.

This is a better fight than people are giving credit. Curtis looked sharp on his comeback. This will be competitive - although tough to see Woodhouse getting the nod in Belfast

Not a great fight, but excellent opportunity for Woodhouse. i don't see what people expect from Mccloskey. He lost on convincingly on his step up to world level (despite the poor ending), and struggled his way to a gift against a fringe contender / gatekeeper in Prescott.

Why would a big name fighter want to come over to Belfast to fight him? He has no name, no belt, no resume, isn't great to watch and offers very little.

Because, and correct me if I'm wrong here (I am after all just a yank) - McCloskey is the bigger name? Pertaining to boxing at least, CW's football background notwithstanding.

I actually had it airtight for McCloskey, by the skin of his teeth. :conf

Meh, we all know what is gonna happen here, Curtis Woodhouse will fight hard against Dudey but will ultimately outboxed but will win a few rounds on aggression alone.

I wanna see Mcloskey fight someone who is world class, he needs to start proving himself, he's better than domestic level.

  7. Good fight if you ask me.

Though I'm not sure what it does in respect McCloskey's ambitions.

A defeat for him would mean the end, and a win wouldn't really do that much for him, other than marking time.

For Woodhouse it's a great opportunity to give his career a real boost.

Why do you continually write 'shocking' and nothing else in response to some news about boxing. Iv seen it a few times, baffling really.

    Matchroom fighter v matchroom fighter

    both domestic

    both on sky

both in the same weight class

both struggling to get decent fights

You are an easy man to shock alright

I was hoping for Katsidis or someone like Olusegun. In fact I think McCloskey v Olusegun would be a decent fight.

I think Paul needs to rematch Prescott, I had Breidis winning by 2 rounds.

not the fight that mccloskey was probably looking for but thats not my fault, its a great chance for me and 1 i couldnt turn down, ill be a huge underdog but i give my word ill give it all i have, and im probably the only one that thinks ill win but im gunna be the only one in there so thats all that matters, theres been bigger upsets in boxing, ill be coming to cause one:bbb

too be honest curtis poeple are pissed because of all the spouting of matchroom and mccloskey about this and that world champ are pricing themselves out of coming to ireland.in reality he should be beggin to get shot at these boys on their patch as they're the champs...
then they come out with a fight withyou a boxer who hasnt even reached brit title level yet
i will say one thing though mccloskey is not as good as he thinks he is and if you win i wont be shocked

Not the only one Curtis. Do what you did in your comeback at Magna and this will be a proper fight:thumbsup
