It's always hilarious to see a simp shoot himself in the foot when using logic: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...er-beats-foreman.683568/page-19#post-22685352 That's exactly what you seem to approve of.
Depends on what one perceives to be a 'Swarmer', but any heavyweight who came forward expecting to land on and evade Foreman, nullifying his offense while getting the better of exchanges was going to be rolling the dice in a big way. I'm sure there are those who believe that there were/are Swarmer types out there who might have been too much for Big George, but I doubt I'd have bet on any of them to beat a pre-Zaire Foreman - and probably not even a Comeback Foreman.
Is that the Holyfield Foreman fought? And I seem to recall Vitali losing to a blown up light heavy whose last name rhymes with word.
I agree with pretty much all of this. I never even said Old Foreman wins for sure, I was just responding to the fanboy's absurd claim Vitali is simply going to slip, weave, and dodge everything Foreman throws when he was tagged plenty by cavemen like Peter, Arreola, Chisora, a fat old Lewis, etc.
Yes. Who are the best swarmers? Probably, Jeffries, Dempsey, Marciano, Frazier, Tyson. The more explosive fellows, like Dempsey or Tyson, you could give an outside shot to. That’s as good as it gets.
Foreman was exceptional at punching down and throwing swarmers off balance. I’d favor him against anyone there. Tyson and Povetkin would be interesting matches though
That’s a debatable one, sure. I wanted to cast a wide umbrella. Maybe under more modern rules, that would become clearer.
I was thinking of his fights with Sharkey and the first Corbett one really. Plus he didn't really "swarm," Ruhlin just plodded after him.
